Nothing wrong with SOME fake wheels. I like my Advans but wouldn't mind having another set of Rotas.

so fake i stamped made in japan on the back
I've seen a few Nippon sets and have to agree. I am looking at a set of either SSR Formula mesh or Work E-wings right now.
I may have found a set in 4x100 but that bolt pattern does me no good. The price for the ones I am considering is $1300 shipped.
Then again I also found a complete H22 JR S/C kit for $2k. :D
Be careful. They were designed for 5th gen preludes and to get them fitting properly in a 4th gen prelude was challenging and required alot of time with a big hammer or other "special tool." The accord bay may or may not be more forgiving when it comes time to make it fit properly.
I knew the issues with the s2 manifolds but wasn't aware of the issues with the S/C kit. Damn. Maybe a set of cams then.

^ won't fit in the Accord bay without modification.

6x4.5 SUCKS

MeFryRice: Uh, and how do you know what my "budget" is???? Also, I don't remember "bitching" about having to use synthetic oil in my Redline. Thanks for your opinion but it won't be accepted from now on.
i think u did complain that the cost of synthetic oil changes were one of the many factors that contributed to you having to part with it (i know there were others that were more prominent).
i think by "out of your budget" he was implying proper upkeep and maintenance can be extensive and/or pricey IF synthetic oil changes are effecting your budget. i know your much more financially stable now so your situation is completely different. i agree though: for affordability reliability and practicality the shitvic is your best bet...
You did bitch about the cost of synthetic oil. If you can't afford synthetic then you shouldn't be buying a forced induction vehicle.
I also recall you posting numerous times about wanting to come out to the meet but couldn't because you didn't have cash for gas...

no clear brembos:D
MeFryRice: Stating that the synthetic oil changes are expensive and "bitching" are 2 completely different things. Yes, I did say that the cost of premium fuel was stopping me from coming to some of the meets but that was over a year ago and I was either unemployed or not working a lot of hours. I also lived in Meriweather County at the time and the drive was further then I wanted to drive. I no longer live in the state of Ga and have a position in the Army. I recieve a paycheck every 1st and 15th. My "budget" is no where as small as it was over a year ago. If I wanted an opinion on my financial situation I'd visit a financial advisor not an automotive forum.
robert this is for you

Let's start over and ask the question... What is your new budget for a car?
I couldn't resist responding to this..
For the majority of people out there, the car is the 2nd biggest investment aside from your house...and the wife and kids. So even though you're asking for advice on buying a specific car, it's still a major financial(and more important than which one is cooler/better/whatever) decision based on your current/future pay. My observation is that you have a wife, 3 kids, and judging by the length of time you've been in the army that you're still around the e1 pay grade(correct me if I'm wrong).
I'd be buying a civic and would be more concerned with affording my children being that they get more expensive as they grow up.
Then again, what do I know?
:surrender
I know the Army was different when I was still in the military. They would promote you if you could tie your fuckin shoe laces right twice in the same day. So by that you can't base pay rates in the Army strictly off of Time in service.
But on a side note I was thinking the same thing as Fry when I read Bacon's post. I remember his "Assumed" financial state prior to when he was Military and assumed the same thing as Fry. I don't believe it was a put down, just throwing in his opinion based off of previous "Facts".
Just my .02
Only reason it has taken me so long to purchase another car is because I was in Basic Training and then AIT. I didn't get here till August and had to put money towards things like getting a place to live, turning on utilities, paying for my wife to drive from Ga to Va and then to Washington State.
If my budget wasn't big enough to include certain cars I woudn't have listed them. lol
I am an E2 until February and since I have a wife and 3 kids I get a little more then the single E2 soldier.
