We got like 13-14 legends out here today
they did delete it?? wtf....
They deleted the last few posts. It was just a joke. Damn
Had an incident with a stupid black female today during our trip to see SENNA again with some friends. We were entering 75/85N from Langford Pkwy when I'm in the lead of a pack of ~10+ cars when we're coming up to a silver Nissan Altima that is doing 45-55mph (we're traveling at 75-80mph). Due to her slow ass, me along with a couple cars behind us had to lane change and cut off someone otherwise we would have rear ended her. As we pass her fucking dumbass, we notice that she's on the phone (as usual) so I honk my horn at her, we didn't flip her off or anything, just a simple honk of the horn to notify her that she was traveling to slow for the pace of traffic. ~30 seconds later she comes hauling ass next to us and points an almost full 20oz Mountain Dew. Since she's so focused on us, she's now drifting into our lane damn near clipping us. I speed up but because I drive a civic which is slower than Danny's Miata, she was able to catch right back up. Right when she is about to be door to door, I slam on the brakes which then she decides to throw said Mountain Dew that hit my driver side window. She continues on driving recklessly through traffic cutting people off to get away now (I'm pissed at this point). We manage to catch up with her and get her tag. Called the APD which we met up with off one of the exits. I explained the story to the LEO exactly how everything went down and he called her plates in for reckless driving. Whether it happens today or in the future, that bitch has something coming for her.
I'm so fucking fed up with dumbass driver's today that are more focused on their damn conversation than actually driving. That bitch looked like she would have MetroPCS so I would guess that she running out of minutes anyways. Our country as a whole needs to enforce the anti-usage of a cell phone while driving. Everyone takes driving as a right instead of a privilege like it really is.
/rant.
In her defense, sir, you were traveling 20-25 mph above the legal speed limit. It appears, from your statement, that she was within the minimum and maximum limits. If you almost rear ended someone to avoid her, it seems that you were moving much too fast than she was moving slow. This reads like you were the one in the wrong and if you'd have told the police officer the same thing you typed here and he had any sense, he would have said the same thing.
But I do agree with you in the cell phone comment. I don't know why people insist on not using at least hands free equipment if they use a phone while driving. I hate driving my truck down the highways and coming upon people in their cars strolling down the road with a phone stuck to their ears, oblivious to their surroundings. And throwing something at you while moving down a freeway? Utterly stupid. That in itself could have caused an accident that could have been bad. Good thing no one was hurt, though.
Be careful out there, dude. Later, QD.
While I-85/75/285 or any highway in atlanta says 55mph, when was the last time you could safely drive that speed without getting run over by any other vehicle besides in rush hour traffic? Im not a fan of speeding, but there is no way in hell im going to do 45-55mph and get my ass run over, or even get a ticket for impeding the flow of traffic because of being a hazard to other drivers.
I have been looking for this video for a while, ga state students make a video about how stupid driving 55mph on 285 is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1B-Ox...yer_embedded#!
While they blocked off the highway, you get the idea. Explain to me, how doing the speed limit when everyone else on these highways are going much faster is safe?
You mistook the point of my reply. I'm typing from a legal standpoint. Not an actual one. I go up to 64mph through the connector (truck is governed to that), myself. So it doesn't matter, legally, when the last time you saw someone driving 55 through there. That doesn't override the speed limit sign. I know what the flow of traffic is through there and am not "attacking" the OP on that point . I'm just not getting getting upset at someone who was driving well within his/her rights (the speed limit) when you're going 20+ over. Except for the cell phone part, of course.
But to answer your question, Friday was the last time I saw someone go through there safely without doing double digits over the limit. Before Friday, it was Thursday. Before Thursday, it was Wednesday and every weekday before that for I don't know how long. Later, QD.
I think this thread about Newnan meets isn't about a Newnan meet anymore and should be deleted.
Im glad you could "safely" see someone doing the speed limit through the connector or atlanta for that matter, but the last time I tried to go through atlanta without doing even 70, i could see the bugs and individual slats of the 18 wheelers grill in my rear view while I was in the 2nd to right most lane. Anyone can spout out text book legality, but we dont live in a text book, we live in real life.
As far as that video, the point of it was 55mph is too slow, and if you do the speed limit, you will get run over/ become a hazard to other drivers, so i dont see how i missed the point............
But the judge lives in a "text book legality" life. That's the bottom line.
If I remember correctly, the point of that video was to show that if everyone drove the speed limit through traffic prone areas, that bottle-necking and jams would be less harsh on impeding the flow of traffic. That's how you missed that point as well. Later, QD.
You need to rewatch the video qd, cause one of the students created the video when they got a ticket for doing 80 in a 55 on 285 while keeping up with traffic, nothing about traffic prone areas. Im waiting for an apology on that one qd.
A judge also will "bend" the rules for good and bad, and will assess the situation logically. So will several LEOs.
You were right on that one. I remember now because I saw the video as a good proponent of everyone doing the speed limit instead of some doing 80, some doing 70, some doing 60 and so on to create a traffic mess.
You won't get an apology, though. Had you not expected one, it may have come your way. I'm not often wrong (see the other part of our discussion), but when I am, I have no problem saying so.
You're out of luck on this one, dude. Twenty+ mph over the limit through down town? No logic really to be found. Later, QD.
jojo.... leave him alone.... hes right, the truth of the matter is the speed limit is 55. anyway u cut it, 80 in a 55 is illegal. steve really didnt have a problem with her speed as much as he did her driving and talking followed by her throwing the bottle...
No hair off my neck, didnt expect one anyway.
All I have to backup my argument is hearsay, i have heard of people getting out of 30+ through atlanta after being pulled over by a LEO along with people getting off after showing up to court. Then heard of people losing their license for such said offenses. But logic tells me if average traffic speed is not 55, but closer to 80, i am going to get closer to the average to avoid being hit.
Haha, it's good, man. As long as we're having a mature conversation, there's no harm.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen.
I don't have to worry because I drive around in a 40 ton vehicle, lolol. And if someone hits me, that's all on them, lolol. Later, QD.
You say that and i picture this from 2fast 2 furious

it would have ended differently for me........
80+ mph on Langford Parkway is way too fast. I can't do 70 in my ambulance without slowing down for a car at any given point.

I can as well but its still too fast.

None of you were there to witness the situation so you can only express your opinion based on what I typed.
QD - In regards to the rate of speed, everyone traveling on 85N that day was cruising at a pace of 75-85mph. Laurabeth was with me and can/will agree. Instead of being that one person that wants to cause a traffic jam, I will and will continue to travel with the flow of traffic. Her actions towards me honking the horn at her was inappropriate and instead of me handling the situation in an immature manner, I put it in the legals hands. Should she decide to do it one day to a right-wing nut, she may not live to pay her next payment at Rent-N-Roll.
Bacon - We were not on Langford Pkwy itself but simply the inner connection from 85N to Langford Pkwy back onto 85N. Again, the cars behind us were traveling at the same pace as us. Comparing 80mph in a car vs your ambulance is apple to oranges.
In regards to the speed limit, our faggot ass of a Governor, Sonny Purdue, applied the Super Speeders law as he is fully aware that Atlanta traffic travels faster than the posted speed limit. When he was invited to ride along with someone whom wanted to express this to him, he declined. What our country really needs as a whole is to invest in better driving education as we seem to really lack this. No one knows how to use a turn signal, stop properly at a stop sign (they prefer the California roll), drive with their high beams on or not on at all at night, cruises in the passing lane, etc. They simply do not pay attention but instead are more focused on other things; the pointless conversation their having, putting on makeup, reading the paper (yes, I've seen this happen), etc. I could go on.
Haha, I wasn't looking for reps but thanks. :)
To preface, MFR (not motherfucker, lolol), I'm not chastising your speed at all. I was merely stating that you can't be mad at a person for going the legal limit and slowing you down because you wanted to exceed the speed limit. As I said before, I go above the limit through there myself. I wouldn't go as fast as you, but I do go about 60-65.
Which is why I wasn't posting an opinion, sir.
In this situation, it was actually a combination of you and this person being at fault. You (and the flow) going as fast as y'all were and her (traveling legally) going slow to help create that hazard.
Honestly, in downtown, there is no reason to go that fast. That is just my opinion, sir. Like I said, I'm not bashing you, dude, so please don't take it that way. Later, QD.
I wasnt taking it as bashing, just a normal conversation. :)
Muahahah! Thanks to Steve for PM someone to get me registered! So since I went through and did this the proper way maybe I won't get banned this time!! :D
^^ You're welcome.
Did you change your log-in info? Later, QD.
I sure did! I really appreciate everything man, Thank you!
No problem Danny. Thanks again QD for helping me get him setup.
No problem, man. Be cool. Later, QD.
Thank you, sir!
Haha anyone else watch top gear? I loled at what Rutledge Wood said about Bridget Marquardt bumping Buzz Aldrins bottom.
