1600 on this car and I'll be happy. I have 5 different tunes for it and larger injectors and pump. It'll be on the road tonight and should be fine now.

1600ish is what we target on Subarus. Thats on pump gas. I've seen guys brave 1850 on E85/race gas but thats about it. Diesel is a completely different animal making it interesting to compare but they share no relationship..
I always thought diesel burned hotter... guess not... I have no clue what mine is supposed to be... nobody really talks about it in the threads I'm in but they could be there...

UHHH... Last time I checked 2000* is hotter than 1600????
That's a rare occurrence when the Diesel Particulate Filter gets 95% full the truck will put itself in a mode where it will burn the soot and shit out of the filter... i don't remember what all that filters because it has a huge cat too

Had a pretty fun weekend at autocross this past sunday.. placed first in the novice class, which isn't exactly saying much. I placed 49 out of 91 for the day, although the first 33 cars were all on slicks.. I was only 1.1 seconds slower than the fastest car on street tires.. so I'm fairly happy with the results. In the novice class I beat out an '06 Lotus Exige, a modified S2000's, a nismo 350z, a few miatas.. not bad for the basically stock 4 door family sedan's first trip to competitive racing. They told me I'm not allowed to compete in the Novice class anymore :( ..STX here I come!

AWESOME dude!!!! I congratulate you on taking the "rent-a-car" out on the race track! lol You have plans to keep doing it? I know you said its mostly 1/8 mile tracks around you, but how bout hitting up the strip??
go check the intersection of 16/54 and on 54 leaving Anthony's in front of that cops house............ about 1000 feet down on 54, you'll see some fat braking skids from the herd of deer that apparently were scared saturday night........... lesson learned: when turning off the ETC to do burnouts, it will also disable the ABS that control the way over-braked car.
Millard Farmer is starting to look like a runway. I even layed down some dually rubber on MF. I left a nice one that has been there for 2 weeks now.
Oh yea.. I'm absolutely gonna keep doing it. This is what my car was designed to do. Its time to beef up the suspension and get some decent rubber though. I would love to take it to the strip just to see what it would run, but a 3+ hour trip to the closest 1/4 mile track just doesn't seem like fun to me.. and 1/8th mile is just dumb. If it makes ya feel any better.. I pulled pretty easily on a neon SRT-4 that says he ran a 13.4@104.
Amen to that! Straight line is fun just to see where you are.. but once you go once.. I don't see a point to going back.. unless you do some substantial mods.
Ehhhh.... I think otherwise. I learned alot by going to the track repeatedly. With no mods I was able to bring the time down substantially. I'm just too busy/cheap to find the time to get into autocross right now. I really wanna do a couple track days though...
Does anyone know who owns the newer silver Honda fit with Pink wheels?
^^^ either a chic or a fag...
Its a chick. I am trying to get a hold of the person.
sorry i couldn't be of more help.
Its a chick I know that much but at her current rate she will need to carpool to get to work for a few months haha
I'm not trying to argue, just tryin to get more insight on what you mean by that.. but what did you learn from going to the track? How to launch effectively? It's not very real-world friendly because usually you're on lowered pressure on your tires (or different tires all together), on a very sticky surface, and with everything out of your car for weight. I get that it got your 60' times down, but what happens after that? Anyone can shift quickly. I totally understand if its just the thrill of improving on your times, but I can learn that in one or two trips to the drag strip. I autocrossed for years in my '99 Civic Si, learned something new every event.. and the course was different every time. Kept things interesting and unique. Now with my Cobalt I learned even more and got better every run.
As far as you in autocross, with your mods on the Subaru you'd be in Street Mod class I believe... and you'd need full slicks and full race suspension to even compete with the cars in that class($$$$). You would have loved the Subaru that set the fastest time of the day though. a 2000 2.5RS with a full STI swap on some serious suspension and slicks.. I ran a 38.9, he ran a 34.. his wife ran a 35 in the same car.. faaaast car. Having said that.. some of the most competitive classes are the stock classes. Take the Fit out and run it.. you'd be surprised what a competent driver can do in a stock car.
If i went, I would want to take the fit. But since its not my car.... lol
As for learning... I always went with full weight, and street tire pressure. The surface is different, but the technique is similar if not identical (i did some experimentation on the street :ninja:). I learned how to launch it and when to shift it. Each gear was different:
1ST: 7100
2ND: 66-6700
3RD: 63-6400
It might not be much of an arguement, but straight line speed is pretty much the easiest most direct way to see how each car stacks up against another. I used to play around on the streets for money, and knowing how quick the competition was based on 1/4 mile times versus my times mde it easier to decide if I wanted to play or not. I still use my current slips to help me decide if I want to play with that new Camaro or just leave him alone. lol
For me, I'm more interested in the better car moreso than the better car/driver combo. IDK why I'm like that though... weird...
Homemade hamburger time :goodjob:
I like to see what it traps to get a good idea on what the car is capable of. Since I cant drive or shift worth a fuck I take a low 12 sec car, and turn it into a high 13 sec car!
But I do love the road course! Pay for a day and get hours worth of driving time. Cant beat it.
Drifting is the most practical.....
Jk I mean a little bit if you start sliding you can control it...

Not to be a dick, but I'm excited for you. I can see you getting a painted bumper now, which would prompt you to get that roll pan on, and if the hood was damaged, maybe you'll get a cowl hood and it'll look fucking beautiful!!!

And Steve... the other fender has been fucked for a couple years... and the hood now the other fender... I don't have money for the cowl hood that I want... I need 2 new headlight buckets, a headlight, 2 fenders grill and hood... I can hold off on the grill and hood... just want to get everything then get it painted... and I'm gonna do it soon to... not waiting for the scivvy to be finished... but idk how close the color match will be... hey Brian you should come back and help with a discount on paint ;)

Uh, the boost leak was there. Ask Bobby when I took him for a ride (when he rode with me to pick up a set of RPF1's). It was very obvious. it was a night/day difference after the hose was replaced. I'd know as i used to drive the car everyday. One day your balls will drop and will drive the car the way it should be but that'll be the day that Brandon quits lying to impress us and buys a decent car instead of another POS like all of the recent cars he's bought. :)
then i must have went for a ride with the leak... And it was ALOT fucking faster than my POS. lol Not the point though: I know how to leave from a light and my balls have dropped further than yours "Mr. Afraid to launch your car." Thats bad enough but you have the bullitproof 6spd and I have the 5spd made from boogers and glass. So when YOUR ballz drop, get back to me :taun:
hahahahahaha
Never gave a rats ass about launching my car. What's the point of destroying something on the street besides ticking your anus for fun? Pointless in my opinion.
