^^^ EG coupe ex with the D16Z6 sohc vtec motor is awesome starting point!!! A few choice bolt-ons and suspension, wheels, and lip will make it a great first project.

what about c series or j series?
If I were to do a swap on my POS civic, it'd be a K-series without a doubt. B-series is so 90's. Lol.
Idk why people hate on k,yes its more to swap in,but it offers so much more than h imo. Bang for your buck,h is deffinitally the way to though.
k offers very little over H. sorry, but its cheaper by a long shot and can be quicker than most of the owners skill level. we're make 220-240 out of H motors doing the same mods that youd do to a K and make the same power. the uper limits of K's are close to 300whp NA but its not really streetable. smae goes for the H. the s2000 motor is actually loosly based off the h22. loosly. lol

I wouldn't call a b series swap cheap. A non vtec motor maybe afforbable, shit adds up quick! A simple GSR swap will typically cost $2k. Possibly more possibly less.
a D is an awesome motor and when built right can keep up with B powered cars without FI.
The J swap is neat but just not my thing.
Let me say something about K's before you guys think I hate all things K. They're awesome motors! They make power reliably, respond to bolt-ons and other power adders, they're everything the B series was 15-20yrs ago. My problem with them is, people think that because there's the K motors the old B series motors are garbage. You open up a magazine and you see K swapped cars with tucked bays on every page. These cars are all cookie cutters. This only influences the "I gotta have a K" mentality. People could have been having the same power for less money for MANY YEARS if they would've done the H swap. These kinds of power numbers with simple work is not anything new- the path to doing it is (aka the K swap).
