if your parents are anything like mine....they will make that promise and at the end of the semester either write you an iou or say "think about all the stuff we bought you as a kid...."

jizz!!!!
gonna be an interesting race season for the turbo cobalt platform this year... tuners have finally figured out how to unlock the fuel maps to run E85 (i guess its difficult to do with direct injection).. put down 335whp and well over 400 wheel torque with JUST A TUNE.. 100% stock otherwise (down to the stock paper filter in the intake). T-minus 10k miles to warranty expiration!
Here is a video of a balt SS sedan with an airbox mod (basically just changing out the stock plastic intake tube for smoother airflow) and E85 tune @ 3000 miles above sea level on street tires.. stock otherwise:
12.9@112 with an average 60' time

in other news.. ZZP in Michigan decided to test out their custom forged rods for the 2.0L LSJ Cobalt(the predecessor to the turbo LNF) to failure... they couldn't find the limit.. with stock sleves, stock forged internals, their off the shelf forged rods, and a block girdle (and obviously with a huge turbo and fuel modifications).. they hit 898whp @ 55psi before the stock head gasket blew (this is after 50+ pulls by the way). They are replacing parts and shooting for the 1000whp mark on the lil 2.0L right now.
Unicoi Turnpike is the main road that runs right through the heart of downtown Helen that leads right up to Hiawassee. It's not that bad. Blood Mountain is definitely more technical. I YouTube'd Wolf Pen Gap and it appears to be about as technical as Blood Mountain.
This whole time I thought you were still running a stock blower.....damn.
well looked them both up. unicoi looks like a nice ride. wolf pen gap looks like a bunch of garbage. after watching a few youtube video, i wont wast my time going up there until they repave it. it is awesome since its very technical, but you have to dodge damn potholes everywhere.
yea that sounds good.
We are making plans now to have a mountain gathering soon and have Chadbee come up for photos of us through the turns. Maybe you could get off to come with us. I won't be going back up until then.
Will probably be a little over a month from now. I have the price for the photographer and have a new thread started to gauge interest. Cars or bikes are welcome. Need at least ten people or enough people willing to pay extra to reach the photographer's price that was given to me.
Deals Gap is OK, more fun in a car. I rode literbikes, Deals Gap was too tight to carry fun speeds. Now, Wolfe Pen Gap is a riot, not nearly as technical as Deals though. Personally, WPG was one of my favorites on a SUpermoto or Literbike, you can carry big speed. But, I found it to be a litlte too bumpy/dirty for a well prepped sportbike. I also liked the road right off 129 at Deals Gap, 82 IIRC? I always found that to be way more fun. Deals gap will suck until it gets cold out again, littered with rookies in cars and Harleys, stoopid "Grand Prix CLub" meets and whatnot. Much poor talent up there during the spring/summer.
I'd like to hit WPG one day next time I am up that way. I took it easy with Blood Mountain not knowing exactly where I was going and I was doing it solo. Unicoi is a fun paced ride even going slow.
Damn....Corbin seats are expensive as hell. Not sure my lack of comfort on my bike would justify that much money.
I think Tommy figured that one out. Doubt Corbin makes seats for cars.
Why would corbin make seats for anything?!?!?! lol
I'm confused....
Whos going to the v thur? Weathers going to be great.
I plan on going if dad's new turbo gets here on wednesday:D
If not I'll wanna ride. Can I ride w/u corbin???
Burp
I probably won't be at the V. Trying not to drive the 911 until some things get fixed (at least not long distances).
If I am out of class by a decent time....I still won't be going to the V. $ is tight for the next couple of months due to events and mods.
My truck doesn't seem to be running right...
I hope it's just the heat somehow.... My intake is not sectioned off from the rest of the engine...
It's slower than normal to get up to revs and there is alot less torque...
And the steering felt pretty off
Sometimes
You should have watched it spin when we didnt have 2 people sitting in the trunk....spinning tires on the dyno ftw :)
Hahaha ya thats why I kept saying I'd run your bike :ninja:
...it is a stock blower. I havent modified it at all....yet :D
I'm in. Let's see if I can get my new a-spec skirts on between getting off work at 4 and rolling out :hump:
You're such a procrastinator, you've been saying you were going to get that shit fixed for months now! Ride along with your man.
For those that are talking about going to the N. GA mountains, be careful as Officer Cox of the GSP won't be afraid to write a BS ticket. I fight mine on Wednesday.
OK so extremely good news, about the swap:
I have figured out how the vacuum for evap needs to be hooked up for it to work on my car which i previously was very scared about. (Just have to cap off a line on the canister as the obd2 engine only has 1 hose that goes to the evap canister.)
The obd2 harness does not need to be hacked up in anyway shape or form as long as I run the obd1 p75 ecu, as i will also be able to use the obd2 dizzy.
Bad news:
I still need to buy miscellaneous stuff before it can get put in such as new motor mounts (Mine are fatigued,), Clutch, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil pan gasket, thermostat, timing belt, water pump, coolant hoses, random hoses, crv ac bracket, and some other things. There goes my budget out the window..... :(
I was able to trade shifts and am now able to go Thursday. Oh and Hey Bobby, Hey Roxie I saw you:ninja:
