IMHO do not paint your stock wheels. Find some V-Dub stockies that would set it off if you have too. Some of the GTI's and such had awesome wheels that can be had for really cheap on vwvortex and such.

Amen. The import scene is not what it used to be. It's mostly about bragging rights these days and people are willing to get well over their head just to say they have a set of $5k wheels on their car. Would I like a set of CCW's? Absolutely but you won't see them on my car unless I come across a good deal. The most I'll spend on a set of wheels is ~$2,500 depending on the wheels. To some that may a lot of money but I think of it this way, once you have wheels with that kind of value, they're easy to trade for other wheels that fits my likings.

I paid $800 for my RPF1's and ended up with Volks, a brand new set of Team Dynamics, and finally some stockies with brand new tires to sell it. I bought tires once through all of that.To some that may a lot of money but I think of it this way, once you have wheels with that kind of value, they're easy to trade for other wheels that fits my likings.
