Just a kind warning more than anything. 20+ uniformed officers within 40 miles is pretty ridiculous.
Thanks for the heads up. We will do our planning Saturday night on the time we will start.

Ya really.....let them all come up here on the weekend......

Chris said something about this earlier......
just so eveyone knows lumpkin county now has a weekend task force for Blood MTN and highway 60 going to Suches. This task force includes 4 Dodge Chargers and 1 Helicopter. I wish I was making all this up. Lumpkin Co. now has them out from Friday to Monday every weekend until summer ends. I know this because a friend of mine is in that task force. So if you are going to come up......don't think that you will be making any kind of world record passes up or down the mountain. Just thought you might want to know but I know someone will do it anyways. The task force was put in place because of the amount of deaths that were happening on and around HWY 129 and HWY 60. When I go up the mountain I go in the middle of the week and there is no one there hardly and I can go as fast as I want to on my bike. Just be careful and not stupid. Chris and I live up here and we hear of deaths all the time on Blood Mountain......hince the name.

I'm sorry but the name of the mountain has nothing to do with driver deaths. It's had that name longer than cars and motorcycles have existed.

I know that!!!!! ..........i was making a statement.........and trying to help out fellow IA members who will be traveling, on purpose I might add, to a Hornets Nest. I guess you didn't get my point.....so nevermind......everybody just come up and act fools......i don't care...everyone get arrested and cars impounded......who gives a ****......just trying to help.

BTW the name comes from the Cherokee and Creek Indian battles that took place there in the 1600's......I know what the name means Thank YOU

Thanks for your input, she was just saying that Blood Mountain wasn't named that from people dying on bikes and in cars. But thanks for the heads up for sure!

No problem......I just get pissed when the point is over looked and something is pointed out that is quite inconsequential. All I am doing is letting you know......maybe you should use sr75 instead......just a suggestion....not to many people on there....especially cops. And since this is posted on the internet you might want to reconcider your route......or talk about it off line or by PM's or something........and just be safe

your welcome.....If I can overreact to anything else just let me know

Oh and by the way I lost a friend in the mountains a couple of years ago.....So my overreacting is just because I want to make sure that people get the point. Im just stating that I know there are going to be cops up there....just don't act stupid and I will wave at all of you when you drive by my work. G/L and end of discussion

Where did you go? The cops are on a rotating schedule up here. In otherwords they will post on a different route at different times and days......they keep that classified though. Just be careful

hahaha thank god someone has intelligence..

F.Y.I for those preaching stunnas droppin' their Busa's and scratchin dur' Icon suits dubbed it "Blood Mountain," your wrong....
The name originated from the battle that took place on the mountain hundreds of years ago between Creek and Cherokee Indians, but some think the name came from the reddish color of the wild plants growing near the top...No... idiots flying off in their imports didn't give it its name either.
