Lol, havn't been there in a while, but last time I went you had to go offroading to get there! Might be trouble for lowered cars.Quote:

I have seen that ae86 in person, and its the most badass ae86 ive ever seen.
That would be the better option. Saturday or Sunday. I know I could do that. I have at least 3 Civics (77, 79 and my 79 CVCC) that could show up. Later, QD.Quote:

If they look good I'll post it, If not, I'll check West Bank and see if it is still 2 or 3 bucks a car, The Dam also has a large pavillion that can be reserved, so I'll check on that, too
If this wasn't so far away I'd come check it out. I have a '69 datsun SRL so all this is interesting to me. I also might be getting a MK3 this weekend, but I think those were voted out earlier in the thread (?)
SRL is a Datsun 1600 roadster, If I remember correct. or is it a U-20 car. Eithier way they are fun cars. Warner Robins is a pretty good haul, but if we have this meet on a saturday you should try to come!
SRL is the U20 model, but mine isn't the solex equipped 2000.Quote:

I might try to make it, but can't make any guarantees. If I did, it would be in the supra though.:ninja:
u-20 powered roadsters are really quick and can be a handfull in the twisties. I had one in 1988, and it would smoke all of the 1st gen integras, and any stock 5.0 fox body "stang". I have an extra set of u-20 SU carbs, and I have a friend that will probably be selling a pair of 50mm PHH mikuni carbs. Mikuni bought out solex and designed the PHH around it. They actually use the same accelerator pump.
Hopefully we'll be able to meet up sometime, if not at the upcoming meet, then later
Any concrete plans for this? This going to take place on a weekend day/eve? We need to get this going if I am going to get a hold of a couple of others. Later, QD.
well, I'm holding for the 14th of june at this moment at buford dam, also me and some friends will probably ride up to sonic near Gwinnett mall thursday June 12 around 8:00 PM. Is anyone planning to go? Are these dates OK? let me know.
I'll be working on the 16th, but I'll bring the te31 on the 12th. :goodjob:
Cool man, Thanks for the reply!
ill be there... My 510 has no motor and my 75 280z i sold a bit ago... but i'll have to ride the maxima unless i got a roadster or another Z by then
Both of those dates are during the week. No go for me and my buddies. Later, QD.Quote:

So maybe, QD, you and your guys can make it this day.
Lex, What engine are you gonna run in your dime? Also I got a line on a 1600 roadster for sale, and I have a series 1, 240z project car for cheap. Hope to see you at one of the meets.

i might be getting a 1600 roadie.
How's the rust on that 240z and does it run?
i'll def make it out, in the maxima if i have to but i'm a classic owner so no hate lol
Great! I know two of us can make it. I'll get with the other and make him show up as well. Later, QD.Quote:

Lex, the 240z has some rust and need a fuel tank. It runs, but I just skarfed the carbs off of it to finish a 1983 RWD Maxima with a 1976 280z engine. As far as engines for your Dat, We got some solutions, appx. 250 hp, 350 ft/lbs torque, installed and megasquirted for $2000,00. Includes, engine, megasquirt, squirt harness, transmission, motor mounts, initial tuning (not dyno tuned) and all labor. Daily driver reliable. We're about to do this swap to the grey 1977 celica and a datsun 710. PM me and I'll give you more details
I Rode out to Buford Dam today. I looked at the dam park, and the dam road. It all looked dam nice if you ask me. The road to the lower pool is dirt and is surprisingly smooth on the ay down. The only rough spots are in the turns, they have some washboarding going on. No potholes or large rocks in the road. Even the lowest of vehicles could make it. I saw a couple of crotchrocket at the bottom. This location is free and has plenty of grass to grill, throw a football, frisbee, or play a little soccer. If you come I would bring a blanket or some fold up chairs. The park has benches and limited picnic tables. If a dirt road is out of the question with most people, then West Bank is available, but is $4.00 per car. Both parks are a within 1/2 mile of each other and both parks are open until 10:00 PM. It should be a dam good time.
I'll let the folks I know know about this. But I wonder if this will be worth the drive. I'd like to see a list of committed people. I'm committed for sure if there is enough others. I want an old school meet to go down. Later, QD.
My friends and myself are going regardless if any one commits or not. That's like 6 cars and maybe 12 people, and probably at least one of us will "rally" off the dam dirt road. Sounds like a dam fun Saturday afternoon at the lower dam park. Even if no "Import Atlantians" come out. So to answer your question..."But I wonder if this will be worth the drive?"...I guess you'll just have to drive out and see!
My group will prolly ride up to Gwinnett BP at the spot after we leave the dam car meet, and hang until late. any one else is welcome to ride along. It's about 10 miles away. C-Ya
haha, i like how u mix dam and damn. i am bring my accord and wish a muth-a would say something. if you behave i might have an rx7,rx3 and te72 rolla come to your little meet.
CD5accord, you have always been good peeps, even if you do drive a honda. You know you are welcome and anyone you want to bring, see you at the Dam
The fucc is that supposed to mean? Later, QD.Quote:

Take a left. Drive onto the dam, and once you get to the spillway (with the big digital lake level meter) look to the left for the road to access the Lower Pool park. Go to the bottom of the dam.
from hwy 400 I know to take Hwy 20 to the east, but I'm not sure where to turn to access the dam from the westbank. I do know that hwy 20 will cross Suwanee dam rd. At Suwanee dam take a left and follow it until the rd dead ends into Buford dam rd.
3:00 to close. 10:00pm. Saturday, June 14 Buford Dam.
as of tonight I have twenty confirmed non "Import Atlantians" counting me, and 6 probablies.
Sorry, too far away, and i dont think the z will be together, i could roll up in my 83 mazda b2200 diesel, lol, its oldschool and rwd.
jhey whats up bro. Bring that diesel hahaQuote:

approximately 35 cars confirmed by phone calls, and possibly 8 starion/conquests.
I'm gonna deffinetly be coming out. I'll play the spoiler with my old school euro.:ninja:
Hey Dave, do you mind updating the 1st post with the confirmed times and dates? I remember reading it in one of the posts. Thanks, bro.
Ok, I updated the first post to have dates and directions. Thanks for the advice Eddie. I didn't notice I could edit the first post. You gonna show up Saturday? I had the date wrong; when you said you had to work before. I really think this meet is gonna be big. I can easily see 50 cars showing if the AE86's and the Starions show up. Not to mention anyone coming just to check us out. I guess we'll see.
I'm coming to check it out if nothing else.
Edit:On Saturday at the dam meet.
Im going to try and make it to the sonic meet. Hopefully the Z will be back together
