I do deserve some criticism for harassing these guys, its just always funny how there is always a new group who thinks they are faster and better in the mountains and i always enjoy picking on them.
i dont think im faster. and y is it about how fast u go? its about having fun and enjoying the ride and meeting new people. trust me, ive seen race cars pulled off trailer that could kill my car on a mountains. i just like driving the roads and was wanting to get a group together to go.
I might make it in either my 318i or my 325i depending on what's running at the moment.

I just got back from Blood Mountain about 3 hours ago, let me tell you Matt. Its the perfect time to go! No snow, looks like it rained there last night but the roads are awesome right now, chilling at the outdoor shop at the top is fun too in this weather.

BannanaFTW, was there a lot of cars? and was there any salt on the roads?
The hoosiers are fast but if u ask me the kumhos are better. they have a little more feel to them, but seem to fall off faster than the hoosiers. for a trackday, i would run a kumho b.c A. there cheaper and B. u will have traffic giving u time to cool the tires.
Im not sure on the rules of ITS. i dont own one so i couldnt tell ya but i can look them up. (got to find my rule book first). the track record for a ITS car is somewhere in the 1:39's if im not mistaken. i know the SM record is in the 1:42s. ur time is really fast for a street car but if it were ur detecated track car, i bet u could drop a second or more.
have u ever tried a PDX with the SCCA? the events are great. if u have ur autocross license then it is free if u work that weekend and $100 if u dont. Ive run a few HPDE's but i dont seem to like them as much as PDX's. the organzation at the events is amazing.
who are u getting ur license under, FIA, SCCA, NASA etc.? i know there is a SCCA school down at RR in febuary and it only cost $800 and u get ur license in one weekend! wht do u plan on racing?
about the cars for the mtn run, CAN EVERYONE PLEASE CHECK IN! just put ur name and car in a post to confirm....matthewAPM (civic si)yeah I've been in alot of cars with Victor Racers and they seem to be sick tires. Hoosier like for alot less. The Toyo's are great as well, and they use to offer discounts for CCA members but i'm not sure if thats still the case (but I think it is). I'll most likely be getting my liscense through N.A.S.A as i've done alot with them. Although I might jump in somewhere else if its that much cheaper. Although I want to get it properly as so many people are getting there liscense with there $$$ and they have no skill what so ever. There are so many people who can't even find an apex yet have there liscense haha. I plan to go to some instructor schools for road racing some time next year as well.I don't have my autox liscense per say because none of the clubs I run with require that...as its such a beginner style of racing that anyone can go out and learn but I do instruct it for The Richard Petty safe driving school for teens.. I'll check into that PDX with SCCA, but I have mixed feelings about scca we'll chat in person. I plan to do more events with them though...

yeah dude. the SCCA classes are cheap. im an instructor at the SCCA PDX events. i dont think i could teach u much since u seem to know everything pretty well. an SCCA autox card is $60 and every autox event is $10 off. i would run in SM if i were u. from what i can tell u got the skill and SM is the class to do it in. everyone is "equal" and it comes down to talent. (Leadfoot can say a little about this too). im going to be in SSC and SSB and some other stuff next season full time (press release coming) and some other stuff i will tell u about on the mtn run. are u bringing the M3 on the run?

well im a definite for sunday but a no go for tues.
traffic was kinda thick and there was one GSP. the traffic is understanding though and stay in their lane when you come around. only thing that pissed me off was a porsche cayenne that was crossing double yellows coming downhill as i was going uphill, talk about **** scared.

Nothing but the speed limit is like 35-45 on the mtn for the most part.I highly doubt anyone is gonna go that slow. And no matter what you say on 400 about taking it easy on the mtn, once you make that first right hander it all goes out the window. seen it to many times. Plus if its on a weekend cops will be everywhere. Why? becuase they know this time of year cars go up the mtn because for the most part its to cold for the bikes. Myself and chris (green91) speak from experience. We both live in dahlonega.
