Derrick, I won't have a chance tonight, bud. Tomorrow night I am working on my car. So, um, we'll do the swap sometime this week, or weekend. Cool?

This sort of reminds me of something I've thought of for a while. That is, do people in Japan think USDM is the way to be a badass? Like owning a 69 Camaro SS over there would be like owning a GT-R Skyline R34 over here, or doing other USDM things like left hand drive swaps. Probably not, I'll bet they just laugh at the crappy de-powered American versions of their cars.Originally Posted by Echonova

I don't know about that. Take that mustang for ex. on tokyo drift, the japanese peeps thought it was pretty badass.Originally Posted by coolcat

Good, Ole'Fasion bullshit!
Yeah Japs do like American muscle. My uncles friend had a business selling American car parts over seas, like JDM parts here, and yeah JDM styling most now here really isnt Japanese styling, but more like Cali style.
I am going to order parts next week. Skunk2 Pro Series Mani, ebay header, short throw, clutch and flywheel. Skunk2 Cam gear, and Skunk2 Test pipe.
Thank god I remebered the money I still have from my wreck last year.

Do NOT waste money on a test pipe, build your own. All it is is a straight piece of exhaust tubing...
X2!!! Rusty, you know enough people with shops...hell, you work at one, of sorts, yourself...custom ftw!!!!Originally Posted by simontibbett

I'm confused, what is a cam gear going to do for you with a stock cam? That doesn't make sense to me. And yeah, definitly custom/ebay a test pipe. Why pay 60 bucks for a peice of tubing with some flanges on it?? I'd go with an Ebay one, just because it's easier than custom, in the fact that you wont have to find 2 flanges, a welder, piping, and a bung.Originally Posted by 00_Rusty™

you can prob still get more power out of the stock cam, not much but some. plus it could be a supporting mod for a future mod
Aftermarket cam gears = looks.
And why would you need a bung on a test pipe??
for the o2 sensor that goes on AFTER the cat(that is still there)Originally Posted by simontibbett

ok i kid about that last statement
While they aren't as useful on the ol' SOHCs, if you get a new cam then having an adjustable cam gear is kinda nice if you tune it.Originally Posted by simontibbett
Yeah but you can retard timing with any gear
You can only go so far without having to pull the whole cam belt and dial the timing in again. The +- 5 deg gears just give you that much more room before causig a huge pain in the ass. And it is a pain in the ass. And way too time consuming for "at the dyno" tuning purposes.
but here is the real ? will rusty actually even try and tune it lolol
I wanna see this danger ranger with the left hand drive/! You had it inported and everything???Originally Posted by Echonova
