This is bullshit. There's no reason to go up there unless you at least try to push your car on those turns. Otherwise its just a waste of gas and Tennessee isn't going to get my dollar for that BS. If you want a scenic drive or something like that then stick to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

That said, I love the dragon, but there are plenty of other roads up there. Personally the dragon is kind of annoying, most of the people on it are dumbasses towing boats or motorcycles that just run up your ass, then flip off the mountain further down the road. There's other roads up there that aren't as popular and just as fun. Especially in North Carolina.

50 Officers.
Swat team Helicopter patrolling the skys
A mobile command center, complete with marked off lanes, a bar-b-que pit for the officers to cook food and 3 mobile EMT vehicles.

Things to watch out for.

1. Officers who stand on the side of the road, in the road a little. When you go around them the cop up the road pulls you oaver for crossing the double yellow.
2. The plain clothes guy acting like he's pissing. He's not, he's clocking you and his fag friend up the road gets you.

If you want to thank any one group of people for ruining the Dragons tail. You can thank the fucksticks on the Harleys. Those Rebel Bikers who are the first ones to run to the cops when someone is speeding up there. They are the ones that ruined the whole deal.

When I lived there it was fun. But it took 2 years for the Harley schmucks to fuck it up forever. If you own a Harley and you are talking to a cop you ought to be tossed off the side of the mountain.

Either go in the off season or find another road cause the Dragons Tail is kaput.
