I was across the aisle when the cop came over and tried to hear what was said. I heard him say that there were reports of drinking and cars doing burnouts. So... everyone the officer walked up to should:
1) Lie to the cop
2) Risk the entire meet being shut down just like SOOOOO many others have been because OBVIOUSLY people outside of the meet noticed the drinking and called the cops. I seriously doubt anyone from the meet called the cops so it's pretty apparent that the drinking was obvious to people either driving by or working at Sonic. In my opinion, it's much better to cooperate and have just a few people leave instead of lying to the cop and having him decide that since there have already been complaints but no one will own up, that the meet should just be shut down all together.
It is private property. If they don't want the meet there, the cops can tell people to leave.
I like beer... I like beer a lot. I also drink it in bars or at my house because that's where's it's legal. It's not worth the ticket and it's the same as those idiots in trucks doing burnouts... it draws attention and something that simple could easily get a meet shut down. I would say that just being asked to leave is getting off VERY easy.
Relax people.. it's a car meet. Go, see cars, talk to people and enjoy it. If people can behave themselves, this meet could get bigger and last for a long time.

BTW, I never said a word to the cop, I was at least 20 feet away, I didn't hear anything he said after he loudly asked about drinking and burnouts so I have no idea what the group he approached actually said but still..... Don't drink in a parking lot and you won't get in trouble for drinking in a parking lot. Pretty simple.

I'll admit. I did drink some in public when I was younger and thought it was cool but for one, I was very discreet about it. I would never stand in the middle of a parking lot with a beer in my hand. Stupid. And... I was never driving. No, never. Now that I'm older and out of that state of mind, I think it's pretty silly. I'll go to a bar and drink if I want to.
But even back then when I was a young dumbass, I wouldn't get mad if I had gotten in trouble for drinking, you break the law and that's what happens. It's like doing 85 in a 55 and getting mad about the ticket.... that's what happens. You chose to take the risk.

a car meet and alcohol have never been a good combination. now if you combine alcohol and the underage, you have an even worse combination. why is it cool to drink at a car meet? now if the meet happens to be at a bar/lounge, then i can understand some people going in and having a drink, but to bring alchohol to a meet is pretty ridiculous. its not a tailgating party....
and how can you blame people for being honest? do they owe you anything? i wasn't there so i don't know all the facts, but in the end, if you're doing something illegal, take responsibility for your actions. blaming others or getting upset with them just shows you haven't learned a damn thing.
what if a bottle was left in the road and you drove over it and it cut your tire, would you still be happy people were drinking at the meet? what if someone drank a few too many and caused an altercation and somehow your car was dented or scratched, would you still think it was a good idea for people to be drinking at the meet?
use some common sense... don't try to argue something you know isn't a good idea.

He claims he's got an ebay kit and he's trying to race people for money and he's hood hinge is broken so he can't pop the hood.
