Default **Atlanta Motor Speedway Friday Night Drags**

    It's here again

This year should be even bigger and better than last years events. They've gotten a little more strict on their rules and classes. For those that are planning on racing there are 2 "tech & test" sessions. The first one is tomorrow and second is next tuesday May 6. From my understanding, if you plan on racing, you have to attend one of these sessions. The stands will not be open for either session but you will be able to race. Here is the link for more info on the friday night drags:

    http://www.atlantamotorspeedway.com/...y_night_drags/

    Hope to see ya'll there

running my bike down the strip yesterday was kind of fun, so I'll be out for a few of these. never had a car that was faster than low 13's, twas a rush to run a 12.2 even if on a bike that's capable of 9's.

So basicly an SRT-4 can't run the tuner class because it has a turbo, but it can run the domestic class. A Mazda Speed can't run the tuner class because of a turbo but it can't run the domestic class because it's not domestic......... so the lowest calss it can run is the sportsman class. At least that how I interpret it.

My car will have to run sportsman or pro four....... even though is a stock car in every way....... except a turbo

Another big reason why I'm going. This would be great if this turns out bigger than last year and they finally decide to build a 1/4mile track. It would be alot closer for everyone, north and soutside

I'll be there this coming tuesday for my tech inspection so if anyone else is going to be there let me know

no, you can go those first 2 dates and get checked out but you can show up anytime and still run. it just makes it faster to go before they start. the plan is to get people singed up as soon as they can, with all the paper work and all that good stuff. i think they give you a card so when you come to the gate they scan it and you go on your way. thats what i heard anyways. but like i said above you can come any time and still run.

So it's almost 9pm now... and here I am, sitting on the floor inside AMS's tech inspection bays as well as a billion other noisy ppl. It's raining and lightning outside so I'm just waiting it out. I only got 1 pass in... and it was right when I got in with no prepping... ran against some orange dragster with huge-o-slicks on the back. Beat it by half a car... on 19psi, LOL.

Anyways... hopefully the rain will go away and I can get some runs in. They put me in the Pro 4 class... and get this, the guy glanced at my car for just a second and put me in that class. Never asked to pop the hood, open the trunk, or any questions. I guess Evo's are just Pro-fessional cars. ^_^

this is fabulous news and all, but my question is... Do I really need a driveshaft loop?
    My car is factory....

Every single performance part and or modification it has was made in a factory somewhere.

Well... shortly after I posted that post above, they announced that the night was over. Anyone with an armband from tonight gets free entry and racing next Friday. All racers also get 1 point added to their season score tonight (not that most of us care). The rain started right after I finished prep'n the car for another pass so kinda sucks that I only got one crappy pass in the whole night. Right afterwards, I went straight to the Tabernacle for PVD.

I was suprised how packed it was... there were a lot of cars. I'd say about 85% domestics, at least. Several scurry looking drag cars with slicks the size of two of my wheels put together... per side (like the orange car I ran). I only saw ONE other import that looked like it was worth a damn on the track... some red boosted EG. I don't think I saw a single other person in my class... mostly ricers for the car show portion. Trust me, I felt VERY out of place being the only Asian in sight and trying not associate myself with the ricers. I'm sure some ppl were making fun of my car 'til they heard that I cam louder than most street cars there. =x

Oh... one complaint... they spray water on the burnout box after every car... regardless of if you want to do a burnout or not. There's no way to get around it either... which means I'll have wet tires every launch... shitty. =/
