Default Atlanta, GA - 4th Annual Georgia Tech Auto Show, March 31!!!

    I can't believe it's already here again.

    PARKING IS FREE FOR EVERYONE!!!

This car show is FREE to attend, so come out and see lots of sweet rides! You know that there will be nice cars to drool over...we all know GT alum rake in the dough!!

It's going to be Saturday March 31, 2007 on the Georgia Tech Campus in downtown Atlanta. For the past three years it has been held in the parking lot adjacent to the Student Center. The show runs from 10:00AM until about 4:00PM. Motor vehicles of all types owned by students, former students, faculty, staff, alumni, fans, and corporate sponsors of Georgia Tech will be on display. Classic antique cars, late model modified cars, 4x4 off road trucks, hot rods, cars modified with alternative power delivery (electric, fuel cell), daily-driven transportation, kit cars, race cars, concept cars, prototype cars, and all kinds of motorcycles will be there for your viewing pleasure. There's even a Student Beater class, where the biggest piece of junk takes home the prize (I lost by a narrow margin last year in this class in my beat ass 4-door).

Each year the show has gotten progressively better. Two years ago someone showed up with a pulse-jet engine on a go-kart. Last year Ferrari Club of Atlanta came out with some stunning vehicles.

I'll be entering my 1991 Honda Beat in the "green" vehicle class this year, so come out and support! If you are a GT student or alum, enter a vehicle!

The website for the show is http://www.gatechautoshow.com/

    this guy

and I just pulled this off of there website now if yall know otherwise.
    it was a simple question.

Q: Do spectators need to purchase a ticket or pay for entrance?

A: There is no entrance or parking fee for spectators. Viewing of the show is open to the public.

It *IS* open to non GT faculty/student/alum, but they are HEAVILY stressing to only enter if you have a rare vehicle (if you're not GT related). They don't want this thing to be the hugest car show in GA.

What? Parking is FREE. The student center deck will be cleared for the show (no students or faculty allowed to leave their cars there), and it's very big (3.5 levels of parking). There will also be free non-ticketed parking along Ferst Street and Tech Pkwy. I'm sure that there will be plenty of space.

Yes, if you have an exotic or a rare or very old import (Honda S600, Mazda RX-3, Toyota 2000 GT) then I'm sure they'd love to have you enter it.

If you want to enter and are unsure if you should, email Sterling Skinner and ask him - he's the one that organizes the show every year. his email is: [email protected]

shadwAg3n - Your physics problem in your sig cracks me up - did you actually write that on a test? I can appreciate it as I am an ME.

Why? That's why it attracts such high quality cars, if you let anyone in, eventually the higher end cars would stop showing up. I think it's a good idea. Plus it's hosted by Tech so it makes good sense.

i don't think it's just for students, but those ppl/family/alumni associated with the school. don't see why that's gay at all, keeps the turnout from blowing way the fuck up and hopefully keeps a lot of the big wings, big kits folks home.

I think it may be open to non-students this year, there's a box in the registration form for 'Tech Fans'. This show is normally on a smaller scale with not as many modified cars but a lot of stock luxury/exotic cars and a lot of concepts/race cars that Tech alums are associated with. The last 2 years they had a Ferrari engineer and the head Ford GT40 engineer (both Tech grads) lecture on the design process behind the cars, this year its for the designer of the PT Cruiser (I'll pass on this one).
