The easiest first car is the CRX. Buy it cheap, do some handling mods and a few hp mods. Enter all the races you can, and then do a few more speed mods. Run some more races, until you have enough money to buy the AWD car of your choice. (mine was the Celica GT-4). Mod it and run the capri rally. It will yield you 200,000+ each race. Run it several times and then, bingo.
