yeah, but you have to play games to WIN points to get those games..
so I don't know how that shit is gonna pan out.. but then again, you can cheat and buy the points..

i got mine this morning, and i LOVE it!!! fuck ps3 and xbox, this shit is fun as hell!!! i bought 3 extra remotes so we got 4 ppl goin at it in the tennis and bowling, its addictive as hell!! it has 4 gamecube controller ports, 2 gamecube memory card slots, an SD memory card slot, wireless remotes, internet capability, all for 250, its great

thing is, I heard, well I know, there will be a change in price with the Wii's probably a $50-60 hike in price.. the first release was just to see what the market was on them..
but from what I've read, we'll be getting some next week, its not confirmed how many but definately getting them in..

and like I've told a few folks selling theirs in the FS section, they need to move it NOW or their gonna lose out, point blank, weekly shipments and availability is gonna shaft them for making TOP DOLLAR

you should def get one man, its well worth the price, i didnt even plan on getting one at release until i was with my friend who had 2 preorders, to go pick his up, the guy at gamestop turned it on for us, and i was hooked. i bought the other preorder off my friend for 50 bucks extra and got one too

WELL its sorta all the systems in one, it can play gamecube discs and has slots for GC controllers and memory cards, but you have to connect it to the internet and either buy or use points you win in games to buy all the ol skool stuffit seems really awesome with all those old school systems in one..
yeah, I know about the whole points thing..
but my concern is, how many points/gameplay (and what games give you the most points) to buy these older games and such?
I can see them asking for INSANELY amounts of points for games and all and shit like that would uberly piss me off

I picked up Zelda & Trauma Unit w/ the Wii on Sunday. Been enjoying it ever since. Definately a nice investment. Then wait til the japanese manga games come out... just think what you can do w/ the wireless controllers... HEH....

My roommates and I bought our Wii yesterday morning. At first, I was sketepical, especially since I really wanted a PS3 after playing on my buddies all day Saturday. Well anyway, we get home with the Wii, turn it on and started playing, 13 hours later, we stopped. It is that addictive!
Wii is probably the greatest game system I have ever played. I say this because once you learn how to use the controllers, it is amazing how much you can control the game! We bought Call of Duty 3, Redsteel, the new Marvel game, and Zelda. On top of that, the system includes the Wii Sports game, which IMO is the best game out currently. I hate sports games, every single one, even all the Madden, NHL's, NBA's, Soccer, etc. etc. etc. But the Wii sports is amazing! EVERYONE, whether you like video games or not needs to try Wii Sports. Even my roommates girlfriend was having a blast bowling and golfing! It still blows me away to think about how much you really feel like you are there.
Graphically, the system is slightly inferior, but the amount you get out of the gameplay makes up for it ten-fold! Plus, the newer games coming out in later months, will look damn good (more comparable to older X-360 games)
If anybody wants a next gen system, but not really sure which one, please listen to my advice and get the Wii, you will not regret it! Plus, the $250 price tag, is not too bad either!
I'm gonna go play 9 holes of golf right now!

Haha I know man! Its crazy how real that shit is! I noticed with the bowling, even if your wrist slightly turns on the end, right before you release the ball, it will pick that up, affecting your bowl!
I think the Wii is going to get a lot more females into gaming, for that reason alone.
I also find it funny how I was almost working up a sweat last night between the boxing and baseball game! I was throwing close to 100 mph fast balls, and my arm today is still soar lol.
My buddy and I got drunk as shit last night and played 18 holes of golf. At one point, (keep in mind I was HEAVILY intoxicated) I actually forgot it was a video game, I kid you not. As retarted as that sounds, its only because of the way the physics for it are setup. Harder you swing, further it goes.
I have even noticed on the Tennis game that you can run around the entire room, as if you were on the court in real life. This shit is crazy, Nintendo has themselves a holy grail here, I think.
i played the baseball a few minutes but i dont like it too much, kinda lame lol, and i had no clue that you could move around in tennis, thats fricken awesome!!
and i agree that it will def get more females into games, hell i wasnt planning on gettin one yet until we played it at gamestop before the release, my gf was begging me to buy the preorder off my friend lol
Yeah man, I was literally running about 5-6 feet per side away from my central position, and everytime it still caught my exact hit with the ball. The little sensor thing is awesome!
The baseball was fun, only because I used to play as a kid, it does get lame after a while though, mainly because of the home run derby style game it is. I would of rather had them set it up like a traditonal game where you could play like 3 innings or something. Still held my attention though!
My 3 favs are the bowling, tennis, and golf.
Hey Teejay, what other games do you have for the system? I was looking to get a few more later this week. I unfortuantely already played/beat NFS Carbon for my PC a few weeks back, but I kind of want to try it with the Wii remote.
i dont have any other games right now, this was kinda an impulse buy so i gotta save more money for christmas shopping. this is my first nintendo system since super nintendo, so ive been playin a bunch of my friends gamecube games that ive never played
