HOLY SHIT! i just checked e-bay and saw ps3's runnin upwards on $5000, one had 10 bids and the price was at $7200

first kid in school with the original GameBoy, had to steal it from my mom's stash to prove it. missed the original nintendo, so I was the first with a Sega Master System. first with Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 at my school. Lost interest in gaming, had no interest in the PS, got a Sega Dreamcast free from Sears Employee Points Program, and bought a PS2 4 months after the hype died down and use it mostly for DVDs.....
Kind of pondered the thought of a PS3 but all the life lost in those lines, no thank you. still keeping eye on a couple locations that there shipment hasn't arrived yet. no, I'm not sharing this one.......
Well think about when the First Plasa TV's came out, they where going for hte price of a new car, and they only had a life span of 5-6 years!
highest price for a PS3 on EBAY so far is $9,000 and the average price is $2,700, shit is nuts. I wish they werent all breaking or I would buy me one.

yea they are going for rediculous prices, but those outrageous ones could easily be a guys buddy bidding on it to jack it up, I don't beleive those ones that are over 4,000 bucks, there is no way. Especially with the amount on eBay right now.
It does seem a little tough, the prices are getting less and less too, I just checked and saw a bunch of them for 2500 buy it nows with no takers. Why would somebody spen 30 gs when they can get a buy it now for 2500?????

I'm the first kid ever with a PS4.
I was considering buying one for my fiancee and brother.....but theres no way in hell I am paying the prices on ebay....hell I probably wouldn't even spend 600 on one....but then again we tend to loose interest in games very quickly! I dont know I am still kinda tempted to buy one....are they worth the 600?? I just really dont want to waste the money....could spend it on better things....
If somebody loves video games then they are worth the $600, if somebody just plays video games every now and then a XBOX or PS2 should be more than satisfying. The Blu Ray player is another part of the reason they sell for $600, buying one seperate would cost $1,000. I guess it just depends on what you like, for an avid gamer it is worth the money.

I won't keep mine because I am worried about it overheating and them not having a replacement for it for about a year or something crazy. Plus I am either trying to buy a project car with the money or something.

I don't think it's worth it after playing my friends one and in gamestop. Compared to the 360 it the SAME!!!! Everytime a game comes out for both systems just sit there and look at them, play them, study them. It will be no different. Sony will lose this one. So for all the sony freaks that thinks the PS3 is better than the X-box 360 and dreaming about the PS4 in a few years might want to hold up cause if sony can't pull a rabbit out the hat with this one then it may not be a PS4.
Either way online gaming is the future and Microsoft has that division TOTALLY in thier hands!!

I just don't know yet. Playing it at my friends house and gamestop did influence me to get one but I just can't see it yet vs the 360. Must play more games first. Might end up with both though at some point.

200 out of 8000 of the 60 gb PS3 wouldn't play a handfull of the old games. Big woop.
And the PS3 and Xbox 360 are nowhere near the same. The PS3 is technologically far superior, but that don't mean shit if the games don't use it.
Sold all 4 of mine. I'll buy another one next year.
