The quality of the music down here is just garbage and besides dancing to the music it really has no playback... Sure they get club play but when your outside of the club do you really feel like listening to that shit? Like when you first get up in the morning i won't throw in my chicken noodle soup single....

Now i listen to Southern music but i listen to the good shit or the old shit, Triple six mafia, old school outkast, goodie mob, dungeon family, Oomp camp, pastor troy, ludacris, etc....these new rappers like young joc and young dro and young [insert here] are just making there money off beats and good marketing.
i agree 100%, although in my opinion young dro is fiya...this guy was pissin me off because all he talked about as he was reigning down e-blows against atlanta was the garbage shit, the bubble gum, snap, wtf ever you call it. i dont like that shit either, ppl gotta realize theres wayyyy more to atl music than that. i said it once and ill say it again, outkast put atlanta on the musical map...imho every atlanta artist should have a track dedicated to outkast on their albums, cause if not for them, there would be nobody

Underground will always be better than mainstream. Most mainstream rappers are underground at some point in there careers and usually put out better music when they were underground because they were hungrier

i never once hated on there money making or there hustle, i hate on the music they put out and i think as a consumer i have the right to do that. IF i dont like it i wont buy there cd's but hearing that shit on the raido 24/7 just completely killed it for me....i dont even have a raido in my car because of it.

I have nothing against southern rappers at all, i just feel like people from the south dont respect northern music as much as people from the north respect that southern shit.

and another thing im sick of is people that have no clue what there talking about trying to come in here and put there 2cents in. Not saying your one of them but some people just soley listen to that mainstream shit.

Only old school NY gets my respect. Caz, Flash, Kool Moe Dee and the Treacherous Three, Run DMC, and the likes of the guys from the day. I listen, still, to the shit out of these guys. Not these dumbasses out today. Later, QD.

rap is one thing and hip hop is another. pple these days will never understand

Hold on a second, leader of the Funky Bunch. Everyone knows that hip hop originated in NY. No dispute. But just because most original legends and the root of it is in NY, doesn't mean that NY will always contain the best lyricists in the country.

I agree with Tasuki! Mad more people down here respect NY/Jerz/Philly rappers than vice versa! You can get on any of the huge hip/hop forums and bump heads all day just by putting where you live(Southeast) in your profile. They automatically come straight at us with snappin and this and that, but it funny because Atl came up WAYYY before the snapping and etc!
