you need to check your sources again b/c HD DVD is already ahead they have sold out in most retailers b/c of the low price (ebay as low as 300 / best buy 499). toshiba was reported taking a loss of 200$ per unit; which is just how xbox has broken into the gaming world so fast. xbox is releasing their HD setup for xmas for 199$ and they have over 5 million units sold as June; which means 5+ million possible people for HD upgradeOriginally Posted by DemonEyez

According to Nielsen data in August, HD DVD sold three times as many discs as any other high-definition format, including Sony's Blu-ray. In addition, the survey company also found that customers of the format owned an average of 8.4 DVDs.
