What the hell is up with US althletics. Basketball a BRONZE medal WTF, i understand that it wasn't the famed dream team of 92-96 but wtf loosing aginst 3rd world fucking countries at a game we "usa" invented. Baseball i know that there is stiff competition coming out of the islands and south america, but losing to CANADA a land whos prime sport is played with a stick on ice, Korea and Mexico. Sorry about the rant but the world will end when Football is played in the olympics and we loose against singapore.

or...it could be the fact that every american team is just put together and thrown out on the court/field with very little time to gel. most of these foreign teams that beat us train for years together just for that event. they know each other and are more comfortable playing together. i think the USA basketball team was together for about 3 weeks before playing in the Olympics against teams that have together for 2, 3, or even 4 years.

that's why it's called a "TEAM" sport.
It was a "pick-up" game for us while these guys spend years trying to compete.
