Yeah, that rap station sucked, so a classic rock station bought them like, there kinda like a XM/Radio station, nothing but continues classic rock....its a dam good station for people who like rock!

97.1 was owned by Radio One, trust me they werent bought out. The station went off the air after new years, which leads me to assume that Radio one did not renew anything and it was more of a trial to see if they can get more listeners from V-103.

tony, you are almost right.. radio one/fox communications changed it to classic rock after they werent getting enough listeners.. its still owned by radio one though.
I agree about to too repetitive thing though.. thye kept playing the same playlist for a week at a time, then would change it.. it sucked..

there does need to be a more diverfisied hip hop station.. 97.1 woulda been a good one IF they mixed it up..

The sad thing is at first it seemed like they were trying to be diverse in what they played.. every other song was something from the 90's or late 80's.. then as time went on it just got more and more mainstream. They now have 102.5 which is supposed to be R&B but its pretty much the same thing as 104.1.

    Interesting!

Well I can guarantee that a large amount of listeners "migrated" from 103.3. Now that 97.1 is off the air, what do they expect those "new" listeners to do.

    Just a trial ay???

people got tired of hearing,' last hour V-103 had 30 minutes of talk.' i hated that announcement every break they had. the only good thing is that is one less station playing 'laffy taffy'

    Thumbs up 102.5 = 97.1

102.5 is a little bit like 97.1, i like it plays alot of the same jams 97.1 did so if you want to listen to oldies from the early 90's you should check it out.
