Sammich, you should ease up a little off of Vick's nuts, dude. They're talking about the cheerleader squad for him with you clamping down so hard, lolol. Vick is not that great. He never has been. His days in Atlanta showed him not as a good QB, but as a good RB or TB. But he showed the potential to be a good and even great QB. Once he came back to the NFL with Philadelphia, he started showing signs of becoming the QB that I thought he could've been with the Falcons. But each year, he showed decline. His days are numbered not only with Philadelphia, but probably in football.

Cutler's big/main/only target is Brandon Marshall....need i say more...Marshall is a beast...Cutler has the time i'm talking that Vick needs to make better decisions. Bears OL is not that bad, i'm sorry, they are pretty decent...not great, but good enough

you got me confused QD, i never said he was great, i said he's good and can only be as good as teh OL will let him. i think everyone is down his throat unnecessarily. a great QB could do ok w/ the OL that the eagles at best. w/ more time in the pocket and the progress he's made, he'd make better decisions. i mean has no one seen just 2 turnovers by him after that horrible OL appearance on monday?! just 2? one fumble and one tipped int...ol boy is trying to improve himself. eagles need a new OL..if they improve that at the same time Vick is still there, he can up his stock.

I didn't say that you said he was great. I'm just bringing talents back down to Earth where they really are and not in La-La Land where you think they are, lolol. Vick is past his prime now, man. His age and his physical being are wearing him down fast.

And here's where the confusion you speak of comes in. You're confusing with me with someone who is "down his throat unnecessarily." I've always said that I thought Vick could be a great QB. I've always seen the potential. He just never took advantage of it.

i think Vick's window is nearly closed. He's never going to be a Tom Brady that can read defenses and adjust blocking assignments or call the right audible vs a blitz... that's why he gets sacked so much, because he never sees it coming. Its not the offensive line.... there's a reason you dont see Brady and Manning getting sacked a bunch even though theyre about as mobile as a 1 legged man with cerebral palsy.... they read the blitz and adjust the blocking assignments.

I can imagine Vick having success in a hurry up offense where he starts playing on instincts vs intelligence but his window is closing as his athleticism is about to start fading.

EDIT: Read defenses and audible blocking and routes like PEYTON MANNING.

which is where i'm adding that he can NOW be a good QB given that he has a good OL. in his prime, if he learned to be a pocket passer like Peyton and still retained his threat of speed..oh, definitely would have been an Elite...but he wont be mentioned among those, he'll be mentioned among the 'running QBs'. RGIII might be the first QB that's know as a runner...

I see him as on the other side of his prime. I believe he has peaked and probably won't be around for much longer.

I don't think he would have ever been in the "elite" category. I always saw the potential to be great (or very good), but not elite.

Nope. Maybe second runner. Vick has the first spot on lock, sir.

    1. i still see 5 years in him, with a OL that dont allow MNF amounts of sacks

    2. maybe right..

    3. i dont know...RGIII seems to have both speed and pocket passing on lock...that's why i say RGIII will be better as a running QB because he has both on lock..BUT...i'll wait until about 3 more years to make a fair evaluation, because Newton surely fell off the map w/ a screwed up team.

I remember a few years ago there was a guy on here that was a (bigger) nut hugger of Vick. Can't remember the screen name but he swore up and down that Vick could do no wrong (even during his dog trials). You read just like that guy, Sam. You point at everyone else BUT Vick. You keep throwing the blame on the OL and never acknowledging that Vick messes up on his own. If Vick were half as good as you think he is, he wouldn't be as bad as he is right now. Good QBs know how to make a bad situation (play) better. Not every QB is going to have a Fort Knox OL in front of them.

Five years? If he can get better and retain a spot on someone's roster, then I agree. I could see a decent Vick still playing (maybe as back up) for another five. At his current state, though, he'll need to accept a pay cut to stay out there.

And about RGIII. I retract my initial response on him. You're right in that he may become the first running QB. Although Vick started out as a run first, QB second quarterback, he was not that good at the quarterbacking part. Give RGIII a couple/three more years and have him produce as he has this first half of this season and you may be right.
