He has started 2 games against 2 bad defenses. Lets see what happens when he plays against a good defense. He plays San Diego this week, they have a decent defense. Next year he will likely be riding the pine again so we probably wont learn much next year either.

Exactly. It's hard to brag about a barely 100 rating when you've only appeared in a handful of games. Let him become a starter. THEN the real test will start. Later, QD.

You are right, he has only two starts but has proved that he definitely has potential for becoming the starter. I don't agree with the whole Tebow did good because of playing a bad defense. There is no bad defense in the NFL, they are pro's for a reason. All of the defensive units in the NFL are good, while a select few are great.

Yes, Tebow may be the starter going into next season also, but that is more of a lack of another option than how good he actually is.

Yes, there are bad defenses in the NFL when you compare them to NFL standards. Obviously they would all be very good defenses if they played in college or HS, but they dont.

Tebow will always have naysayers and doubters, he could win a super bowl next year and idiots would still say he isn't good. If you want everyone to like you, don't win 2 national titles and a Heisman in college. Apparently it bothers people. Just like Cam Newton isn't going to do shit in the NFL according to most football fans, because you know being that big, strong, fast, and having a fuckin Howitzer attached to your shoulder wont get you anywhere in football.

So if someone doesn't think another player is good, that someone is an "idiot?" Who are you to make that call? Maybe I could call you an idiot because you're on the same Tebow Train that Sinfix is riding. But I won't because I recognize that it's not my place. And he could win a SB and not be good. It's called not counting chickens before they hatch. I was the same with Matt Ryan when he first came to Atlanta. Everyone jumped on his train except me. Give the guy a couple of consistent years at being good and then call him good or whatever.

So when you went from college football into the NFL, you didn't notice a change? It was a smooth, consistent transition? Later, QD.

I think Kyle Boller and Trent Dilfer were average QB's at their very best and they are both SB winning QB's. Football is a team sport and while the QB is the most important part if you are good enough in other areas you just need a QB that diesnt screw it up.

1 NC because Leak was the QB for about 90% of Florida's snaps. The heisman he won was because Dixon went down. Until Dixon went down, he was miles away from anyone else.

point is, the people saying he wont amount to anything dont have any proof to support this speculation. Tebow's HS coach told him he couldnt play QB either. I guess someone saying it made it true.... 2 national titles and 3 trips to heisman ceremony later, people are still saying Tebow is going to fail. Everyone gets off on calling the "bust" its more fun to pick whos gonna fail than go out on a limb and predict someone is going to be great.

NFL "experts" didnt think Tom Brady was an NFL QB either.

People really under rate work ethic. Someone who works as hard as Tebow does is not going to fail.

There is also no proof to say he will. It goes both ways. I never said he won't amount to anything. I simply stated that bragging about a QB rating after only 2 starts isn't really proving anything.

I think Archie Griffin and his 2 Heismans would disagree. Heisman was also more than a popularity contest when he won it.

Sam Bradford getting the Heisman over Tebow was robbery and the title game proved it. Tebow had 3 heisman worthy years, if anything... he didnt win more because he was being compared to himself. It wouldnt have been horribly shocking if Tebow would have won 3 heisman trophies. I think when people cast their vote they took that into consideration. Tebow had the most 1st place votes in 2008. 2009's Heisman was decided on the outcome of 1 game vs Alabama

Archie had a better year after his 1st trophy. Even though Tebow had a Heisman worthy 2nd-3rd year, they always compared it to the first season and not the other players. Votes expected Tebow to duplicate 2007 which was just an unrealistic expectation.

Side note, Tim Tebow almost had more rushing TDs in a single season than Archie had in his entire career.

to put it in perspective.......... Archie had 26 total career rushing TDs. Tim Tebow had 57 rushing to go along with his 88 passing.

You didnt watch the game then. Tebow got bailed out by some bad defense on more than a few of his rainbow throws. Bradford also had a TD pass hit his receiver in the chest then get picked off. That TD may have been the difference in the game.

How many voters have you interviewed to learn this info? When Bradford won it he threw for more yards, more TD's, better int to td ratio. The year Tebow did win it, Dixon already had his name inscribed on it until he got hurt.

Winning it once did hurt him in the current PC world, they probably thought they needed to pass the award around some.

Different game. Not nearly as many rules to benefit the offense and hurt the defense. That is why so many records from that era have been dominated. The game has really changed.

You sound like a Tebow sackrider. How are you supposed to retort opinionated claims backed with hardly any evidence? Nobody has said that Tebow isn't good, they are saying that he hasn't proved himself in the NFL yet. Let him have at least a full season of starts and then you can make more legitimate claims.

I AGREE with this whole statement. You cant say someone is a great player based on 2 games especially since his team is not in contention and Orton was hurt.

If you are going to say Tebow is great because of college and 2 NFL games, than i would say Cam Newton will be beast because he is more athletic and has a better arm than Tebow which he has displayed in college. Im not even a Auburn fan.

Tebow is in a league of his own in some statistical categories. anyone who swiftly dejects the possibility of him being considered one of, if not THE best ever, is probably a moron.

When Cam Newton does it for 3 more years, i will entertain that argument. Cam Newton had one of the best seasons ever. would be pretty "sack rider" of you to some up a career based on one season. Either way, as i said above on the stat categories, Cam and Tebow are alone in some aspects. Funny you act is if Cam is far beyond Tebow in stats... thats not even the case, Tebow avgs 20 more multi-purpose yards than Cam. Tebow also produced these stats on a defense minded team and not a team that was in a shoot out every game of the season.

Haters see what they want to see. Cam is so much better than Tebow, even though Tebow produced more stats on a lower scoring offense. Id also like to see a break down of how many times Cam touched the ball in a season vs Tebow, since Florida never had the back and forth shoot outs that Auburn has. Cam also plays every minute of every game, since Auburn never puts a team away early like Florida did.

OMG You are saying Tebow could be the BEST college player EVER? Is he better than Herschel Walker? The only reason i said that about Cam Newton is becuz u said Tebow is already a better QB after 2 games against, in all honesty, 2 not very good defenses. I would like him to play the Steelers, Pats, Bears, Eagles, Falcons, or a good contending team. Cam Newton could very well be better than Tebow or he could be like Jamarcus Russell. I am saying Newton is more athletic and is a better passer than Tebow which are skills that COULD give him the potential to be better. You cant take a players college stats and use them to make him a good NFL QB. I did that with Newton since u did it with Tebow to show how it doesnt work. 2 Examples: Tom Brady- who thought that was goin to happen, Matt Ryan- high draft pick, 3 winning seasons, 2 playoff births, and rookie of the year.

Tebow broke Walker's record and avgs more yards per game than Cam Newton, he has better stats than cam in every aspect other than rushing yards and at this very moment Tebow = 2 national titles and Cam = none. Though i do expect Cam to win the title this year, dont count chickens before they hatch.

I guess speed = athleticism, because thats probably the only physical trait Cam has over Tebow. Also, Tebow isnt the lumbering load everyone makes him out to be, he had the fastest shuttle at the combine and ran a 4.7 40. Had the highest vertical leap in NFL history, higher than Vick who ive been told is a pretty athletic guy. I severely doubt Cam would put more weight on the bar than Tebow.

Cant compare the 2. Tebow played 1 extra season, played more games per season and his bowl stats counted where Walker's did not. If you take Walker's average TD's per season and add in a 4th year he ends with 59 to Tebow's 57. That doesnt include any bowl TD's Walker had.

Tebow was the offense. I'm not looking it up, but Tebow only had 1 or 2 RB's go for over 500 yards for a season in his 4 years at Florida. Dyer had about 1200 this year. Tebow made up a larger piece of the Florida offense.

Tebow was on the team for the first one, but he was nothing more than a glorified fullback that year. Even though he had a bunch of short yardage TD's it didnt make much of a contribution. His TD's were a lack of a running game, nothing more.

Tebow had a lot more people to share the ball with than Cam does. Harvin >>>>>>>> Any player on Auburn. With Walker, you cant assume a player is gonna repeat his performance or avg, Tebow himself is a good example of how that most likely wont happen. If Tebow had 3 2007s, he would be in a league of his own. Glorified fullback? He avg'd 325 yards a game and ended the season with less than 1k rushing yards, even though the running is what you most remember, his stats say hes a passer. The only time he was a glorified fullback was in the redzone. Either way, comparing Tebow to Walker is no insult. If you think Walker is better, thats a fair argument.

you're the only forum troll. The rest of us are having an objective debate. I dont expect everyone to agree with me. If you have a valid argument, i can respect that.

he had a lot more people to share the ball with but that doesnt mean he actually did share the ball with them. Tebow was the leading rusher all 3 years he started. He led the team in both yards and attempts.

Do you know what an average is? I'll give you a hint, you need more than 1 sample to average anything.

Reading isnt your strong suit is it? You might want to try reading what I typed again, this time, read it a whole lot slower. You might be able to figure it out if you do.

Tebow passed for almost 10,000 yards... youre trying to make it like hes an option QB on Army or something. You say hes a glorified fullback... fullbacks dont throw for 88 TDs and 9XXX yards.

You're assuming that Walker's stats wouldnt have declined and youre giving him credit for another quality season to break Tebow's record. Thats a pointless statement to make.... adding TDs that dont exist. Walker could have went the same way as Mark Ingram did this year. Im arguing straight facts.... youre using your imagination to produce an argument. Tebows career is what it is, his stats are there to be evaluated. You cant round up and guesstimate what other players might have done to compare them to Tebow. If Walker played another year..... best ever... maybe so, probably so. He didnt. Tebow did. A college career is a college career.

It's called not counting chickens before they hatch. I was the same with Matt Ryan when he first came to Atlanta. Everyone jumped on his train except me. Give the guy a couple of consistent years at being good and then call him good or whatever.

I can/will make that call of people not recognizing pure talent because they're butthurt bc Tebow probably fucked up the college team they root for by himself. I'm not jumping on any trains, you pulled that out of thin air, but I HATE the ignorance people throw at Tebow. He's a total fag off the field but predicting he will do nothing in the NFL is retarded. And there are plenty of cousin fucking UGA fans that would say he's the worst QB ever if he went undefeated and won a SB on a shitty team. Trust me, they exist, and they're dumb as shit. Idiots. I'm not going to go ahead and say he's a good NFL QB but I fully believe he will be one someday if he stays healthy, and if you actually know anything about football there is a hell of a lot more evidence to suggest he will than he wont.

So when you went from college football into the NFL, you didn't notice a change? It was a smooth, consistent transition? Later, QD.
There are changes but it's still football. He has plenty of athletic capability and knowledge to succeed in the game. And going to the NFL comes with coaches btw, you learn shit. A good coaching staff should be able to have any QB with the natural ability of Tebow/Newton ready to play within a couple years, or even right out of college as we saw with Ryan and Flacco most recently.

Oh no, man! Did you just sling another ruthless insult my way? My goodness, man. I mean, damn, does Tebow have you that much in admiration of him that you're going gung-ho against all "naysayers?" Come on, dude. You make baseless name calling a trait of yours because someone doesn't agree with your choice of idol? You're about as deep as a kiddie pool. If you can't handle disagreements, then maybe it's YOU who should leave the topic.

And go post in the "240 fanboi" forums?

You're right, dude. But the NFL is on a whole different level than college. There are many, many great college players who've succumbed to the trials of professional football. I'm not saying Tebow will. I'm not saying Cam will. Just like I didn't hop on the Ryan-train in his first year. Now I'm convinced that Ryan is a good QB and has the makings of a great QB. Later, QD.
