The guys over at the BBC version aren't gods gift to car knowledge that's for sure, they just know how to nit pick the cars manufacturer and the amenities of the interior and engine sound very well with good dry humor added.

British Top Gear isn't for car lovers, it's entertainment. Car people love the show, we get to see comedians beat nice cars up and complain about them. It's entertaining as hell. If I wanted car reviews I'd watch MotorTrend.

All of the BBC top gear co-hosts are journalists and writers. They are smart, funny, creative, and qualified. James may has extensive knowledge on motorcylces, cars, and even planes. Jeremy Clarkson has been doing car reviews since 1984 and has a column in 2 British newspapers. Richard Hammond doesnt have the auto background but he's been on radio and has been a writer for many years.
