    Default Samsung LED (3-D) tv???

while watching tv tonight I saw a commercial for the new Samsung LED 3-D tv!!...I knew it was coming soon, but I had no idea it was already here....gotta love technology!!... I looked up this info at crutchfield.com for anyone wanting to check it out

    -x30555c7000-f-jpeg

3D is ready — are you?
An extraordinary new level of viewing realism awaits you with Samsung's 3D-ready UN55C7000. If you've seen a recent 3D movie in a theater, you know how much it adds to the experience. You feel more a part of the on-screen action, and characters actually seem more real. When you combine the UN55C7000 with a 3D video source and Samsung's 3D glasses (sold separately), you can enjoy hyper-realistic viewing right in your living room.

    How 3D TV works
3D technology creates the illusion of depth in a two-dimensional image by presenting a slightly different view to each eye. Our eyes and brain do this every day, allowing us to see the world around us in 3D. Samsung's UN55C7000 achieves a similar result by using a special LCD panel that can actually display two different versions of a video image, with the video frames alternating at very high speed.

It's not 3D without the glasses...
Samsung's special 3D glasses work hand in glove with the screen to create three-dimensional images. These liquid-crystal "shutter" glasses alternately block out the left or right lens in coordination with the frames flashing on screen. The glasses communicate wirelessly with the UN55C7000 via infrared beams. It sounds complicated, but it works seamlessly, creating an intensely immersive experience for movies, sports, and video games.

...and a source of 3D video
The ultimate 3D viewing experience starts with video material that was filmed or created for 3D. Samsung will soon offer 3D Blu-ray players, and a limited slection of 3D Blu-ray titles will be available by summer. ESPN and DIRECTV® plan to launch 3D channels later this year, so true 3D content is on the way. The UN55C7000 also has powerful video processing that creates a 3D effect with standard 2D broadcasts, Blu-rays, DVDs and video games.

When you're connected to the Web, there's always something cool to watch
When you connect to your broadband Internet service you can use Samsung's built-in "widgets" to access a variety of free online sites, like YouTube®. And you'll love being able to stream titles from your Netflix® Instant Queue, and order on-demand movies from Blockbuster® and Vudu®. You can even use one of the TV's USB ports to plug in Samsung's wireless adapter for convenient media streaming over your wireless network.

Don't get your hopes up too much... whatever content you watch on these TV's have to be created for 3D content. In the US, there's 0 channels with 3D content lined up... and no PS3 / XBox games either. However, playing PC games on an nVidia card outputting to these TV's is another story. =D

$3500. only one tv made right now, only one player plays it rigiht now, only one blu ray disc (that i know of) available. PS3 is releasing the software for theirs in june. i personally dont think its worth the money right now. ill wait till the price drops. even with my discount at work, that shit is still stoopidly priced.

There's hundreds of PC titles compatible with stereoscopic 3D technology. BTW, watching Avatar with plastic glasses is NOT true stereoscopic 3D... which is what this TV and other high-dollar output devices support.

From what I've heard either dish network, or direct tv have plans for a all 3d channel.

Will work for food, car parts, or three stripe apparel. And not necessarily in that oder.

I looked at one of these in best buy. Having to wear the glasses is annoying and it looks worse than those "3D" movies in a theater. I dunno if it has a setting to turn off the "3D", I hope it does, because when not wearing the glasses it looks like shit.

Nice. Figures it would be Samsung to do it first.

I watched the one at Best Buy in canton, It's pretty clear and neat, But the 3d looks like it comes only about a foot off the TV, not like in the theatre where the images are right in your face. I look forward to the future though. One day we wont have to wear the glasses....

You can turn the 3d off, and the tv will function as a normal led tv would. And I agree the glasses do get annoying.

Will work for food, car parts, or three stripe apparel. And not necessarily in that oder.

I agree that 3D tv will be amazing, but I am going to wait until the glasses are no longer required. I mean honestly, who the hell wants to wear glasses in their own living room, and spend an extra $150 per pair. Also, I watch tv on my side when I lay on my couch, the glasses do not work in that direction...you only see black. I suggest waiting, lol
I really do have a life...
