    Default Julius Peppers to Falcons?

Atlanta is a name that keeps popping up over an over in the Julius Peppers talk. That would allow us to draft a corner or WR

He is now a free agent, and ESPN is reporting the Falcons as a possiblility and a good fit. Which is wierd, they are saying the falcons wont pay for a top corner, but will pay for a 30 year old Peppers.

Peppers is going to want BIG money and he has a rep of taking GAMES off, not just plays. so IDK. I'm not sold on him. We need a top corner or a 2nd WR.

We need defensive backs, and maybe upgrade the D and O line a little we be set.

We have no need for a WR? You think Jenkins is an adequate number 2? You are insane. Dude couldnt get open playing against a middle school team. We need a legit 2nd receiver. We have a ton of young CBs who could develop.

Brent Grimes is developing nicely. He has the highest vertical on the whole team, I think. Quite possibly why they let someone his height play corner.

Julius Peppers would be a great addition to take place of Anderson because he isn't as productive as we thought he was gonna be. If we get Peppers, then we can focus on drafting a top notch CB or a decent 2nd WR. Mike Jenkins isn't great but he isn't the worst receiver neither. I think we need better defensive backs.

Darren Sharper might be a free agent too...he could really help us out in that position.

Jenkins isnt the worse, but he was OFTEN left 1 on 1 against 2nd rate corners and couldnt get open....so we obviously need better.

Falcons need a true #1 WR because White is only a #2. Dex Bryant my slip far enough for the Falcons to grab him and if he is, they need to go ahead and grab him. In the second round, Donovan Warren out of Michigan will be there and he has the potential to be a solid CB.

Falcons dont have a 2nd round pick. And if you look at Whites production, he is a legit number 1. He just gets alot of pressure due to the fact that his number 2 sucks. But regradless, we need a receiver upgrade. Bryant wont fall that far.

I think it would be wise on our part to pick up anything that could be worth a shit to add to our team on the defensive side of the ball...

i think its funny you still think roddy white isnt #1 material, we have more bigger gaping holes on our team to fill instead of getting a "real" #1 wr

Peppers is gonna cost too much. Thomas Decoud played too well at FS to be replaced, maybe a SS though. Outside linebacker is probably the weakest point of the D, and any potential "shutdown corners" will be gone before the Falcons pick. Jenkins got a 5 year extension last year, so he's not going anywhere. Douglas showed some flashes of greatness before tearing his knee up at training camp when pretending to be Roddy White while he sat at home waiting to get paid. For whatever reason they resigned Finneran, so they must not be looking for help at receiver. I would like to see them get the backfield in order, considering Norwood is up for a new contract and Michael Turner wont last long if they want him to have as many carries as he did 2 years ago. In short I say OLB and SS in the draft, and hopefully backup halfback from free agency.

remember theres no salary cap on teams next year unless they sign a new CBA agreement by march, which is highly unlikely so we can spend as much as we want, no player can be considered too pricey
our offense is fine, we just need some well rounded defensive players

we're a run heavy team, we did 11-5 in 08 with the same receiving core
if i'd rather use our top 4 picks on D then try getting another wr.

and? IMO the falcons need to bump white to number 2, get jenkins out of there, and find a true number 1 receiver. falcons could really use peppers big time. just imagine abraham and peppers on the same line! hell I think atlanta should have took a chance on stallworth for a 1-year deal.

Why don't people like Roddy White? He is the best receiver in Falcons history, and there don't appear to be any Calvin or Andre Johnson's in this years draft. I do like Golden Tate though.

roddy finished 13th in total receiving yards, higher then ochocinco/fitzgerald/brandon marshall/boldin/ colston (and that pass happy saints team)and others and we're a RUSHING team you're out of your mind if you think we're going to spend top dollar for a better receiver than #84
oh and hes a 2 time probowler now, cant wait to see what he brings to the table next year

Yea anyone who thinks White needs to be replaced is nuts. We just need a number 2 to take the pressure off and he would be putting up ridiculous numbers. I just wish we could grab Spikes because Peterson(although that motherfucker can lay a hit as good as anyone) is getting old. If we could get Houston to just keep his eyes on the ball he would be a great corner, he rarely gets beat. He just cant get his head around when the ball is coming in.

Drafting or signing a "#1 WR" would be dumb, White has consistently proven that's he our #1. Yeah, it'd be nice to get a better #2 WR, but the 'Birds need to address their defense first. We could really use some secondary and D-line help and hopefully we'll take care of that in the draft and Jerry will come back healthy.

You've always had this vendetta out for White, even though he has proven himself year after year. We could use a better #2 reciever but I think Harry Douglas can fill that void when he gets healthy.

Our defense is our number one problem. Fix the DB problem, ROLB possibly and Julius Peppers on the line, and we will DOMINATE!

haha i think he does! maybe white turned him down on a autograph?
but yea if hes a #2 wr on a team...the #1 wr better be freakin jesus...or andre johnson.
i wonder if we'd put peppers on the opposite end of abraham or maybe LB, i remember him saying how he'd like to play LB in a 3-4 defense...maybe even a 4-3?

Now they are saying the Falcons will draft a DE if one of the top DE's fall to them, if not they are saying we draft secondary again. I say we go DE first round and CB in the 3rd.

They moved Jamaal to DT, which I think he can be a decent 3rd tackle.

I think he is better at DT then he is DE. Using our draft for DE isn't that great of any idea to me, not unless its a very explosive DE. But I say we draft ROLB or DB's. And we try to sign Peppers to a 3-year deal and we should be good.

White is the #1 WR in Atlanta, but thats only because of a weak WR corps. He is average at best against a physical CB and only slightly better against a zone. He doesnt read defenses well and his route running isnt going to have him doing training videos anytime soon.

Falcons need a true game breaking #1 WR and move White to #2. Douglas would be great in the slot as he is too quick for a safety to cover. Benn, out of Illinois, will fall to the Falcons and in 2 years he will be better than White will ever be.

i'll post a few stats from this year
against the saints pass killing D on week 8 he had 108 yards and a td
week 13 against philly and asante samuel 104 yards and a td
week 16 against buffalo and their #2 passing D, 139 yards and 2 tds
and he also ran over sanfran with 210 yards and 2 tds, which isnt a good D but shows how much he can do against a below average passing D
dont tell me he's a fluke or isnt #1 material, clearly the fans think so, which is why he has 2 probowl years in a row

    EDIT:
ANNNND peppers signs with the bears %$&*@!
6 years 91.5 mil, 42 mil guaranteed money...he wasnt joking when he said he wanted a long term deal
    RE-EDIT:
holy mother of god: boldin to the ravens, vandenbosch to the lions, dansby to dolphins, rolle to giants
falcons gotta push harder for some top dollar guys.

Boldin is going to be a monster is Baltimore. Flacco can make use of that big arm of his and anyone that plays the Ravens already has o be very weary of Ray Rice so they cannot sit in zones all day.
