I didnt think they'd be within 10 points, especially with Redman playing.

the falcons should be ashamed of themselves right now. yeah ryan and turner are out, but my goodness the offense still has some playmakers. (white, gonzales, norwood, snelling) I couldnt believe they didnt convert on that 4th down attempt. falcons are done, hell if I were turner or ryan, i wouldnt even bother coming back this season to a team thats not playing like they wanna win.

did some of you forget what redman did up in seattle the last game of the season before ryan came? he was the projected starter which means he is very capable. another thing that pissed me off yesterday was how the falcons receivers were too busy throwing their hands up looking around for a yellow flag when the saints put some hands on them. its football, make a gadang play and keep it moving!

I think for what the Falcons had going in that game, they played great. Aside from a few botched plays, they played excellent against a strong team. Later, QD.

Falcons played good and their franchise will continue to get better even if they dont go to the Bowl or even the playoffs. We might still make the playoffs maybe .

The falcons put up a good fight. For my first NFL game I ever been to, I was on the edge of my seat. It was a close game, but I must admit my Saints came out with another win and still undefeated!

Not a chance. They have the Jets and Bills next and there isn't a win with either of these two teams. Lolol. Later, QD.

Who else were they battling the wildcard spot with? I know it was the eagles, baltimore, and more but the loss yesterday gave them a huge setback. Highly doubt they would reach the playoffs with all of the other teams fighting for the same spot.

It wasn't Baltimore. Not even in the same conference.

If the season ended today, Dallas, New York Giants and Green bay all have better records. Only the top two go to wild card. Later, QD.

this statement makes no sense at all son. thats every franchises goal to reach the playoffs and beyond. How does that make the falcons franchise better if they dont even make the post season from here on out?

I think he may have been talking about the teams chances for the rest of this season. He may be saying that the Falcons will get better through the rest of the season.

I disagree with that, though. Later, QD.

CUZ their f>CKING quarterback is in his second year that's why. When you get a new leader of the offense (qb) and his real good off the bat and stays w/ the team for awhile, all the players start connecting better on offense. Geesh I mean common sense, plus Gonzalez's first year on their squad not to mention alot of the d-fence is new. IF you followed the Falcons very well you know over the few years they have been in a slump (coaches quitting them, Vick arrested) and not really having a set base first string (throwing in third string here and there looking to fill spots even in regular season). Now the team pretty much has what it has been looking for and can grow on it. The Falcons had a tough schedule this year, but their losses were alot of close games and came down to minor errors not from lack of skill. They know what to fill in for next year already and dont have to fill in key spots like *rb, qb, o line, d line* they pretty much need to strengthen their secondary. This year they can still make it to the playoffs, the Bills arent that good this year. N.Y. Jets has on and off days and we almost beat an undefeated team. The Falcons losses were close games anyways. We just need the Giants to loose the next two and we win lol. SO if the Falcons want the playoffs they need to bust it and win the rest, if they dont no they wont make it.

Mathematically they are not out. Realistically, they have no shot.

    Here is how it looks:

If Green Bay wins next week, they clinch a wild card. They play at Pittsburgh. They should win it, but if not and the Falcons lose, they still clinch a spot. They are currently 3 games ahead of Atlanta with 3 games left.

Now on to the second (and final) WC spot. Philadelphia and Dallas are fighting for 1st place in their division. Philadelphia is at 3 games ahead of Atlanta now and Dallas is 2 games ahead. If Dallas wins against New Orleans next week (which they may not do), they will knock Atlanta out whether or not Atlanta wins.

Basically, if Dallas and Green Bay wins next week, they are both in WC spots. Even if Atlanta wins.

If Dallas loses and Atlanta wins, Dallas will hold a 1 game lead over the Falcons going into the next-to-last weekend where Dallas plays Washington and Atlanta plays Buffalo.

Again, Dallas has to lose out and Atlanta win out for Atlanta to have a chance to make WC. Also, if Dallas loses out and Atlanta loses 1 game, they need for the NY Giants to lose 2 for them to make it.

Too many unlikely scenarios for this to happen. Later, QD.

Atlanta hasnt won a Superbowl yet, and it will be cool when they do. I was at the winning game back in the 90's when the Braves won Game 6 to win the World Series. Was pretty crazy.

Man was I wrong about this game. Coach Smith had those guys ready to play, and they hung in there to the very end against one of the top teams in the league without our starting QB, RB, best return man, and a depleted defense. Damn that man deserves some credit.

I am on the fence about this season. I'm torn on whether they should try to go 9-7 and try for the WC spot however, improbable it may be, or lose out and go 6 - 10 to get a better 1st round draft slot since they have no 2nd round pick.
