    Default Falcons vs. Chargers yesterday...

WOW!! What a game they played. Both teams, that is. But the Ryan/Redman combination was a great site to see. Ryan passed for 140 yards and Redman for 134. Six receivers caught passes for over 20 yards. The running game wasn't all that great, but good when necessary. Redman ran for a 10 yard touchdown. The Falcons were down 24-20 with 9 seconds on the clock and Redman tossed a 5 yard TD pass. Very cool. Later, QD.

that hit on Norwood was nasty. I was at the game and heard it from the other endzone.

If the pass defense doesnt improve dramatically, we will not see the playoffs or a winning season again this year. Offense looked pretty good, even though they didnt score many points.

I have a feeling it is going to be a very up and down season. I think the offense has improved over last year even though we will be without Douglas. The defense definately look a step back though. Combine that with a very rough schedule, especially on the road, and we will see all the ups and downs.

Redman is garbage IMO, he's ridiculously lucky he didn't get picked off multiple times on that last drive before he got the TD. Ryan looked good though and so did the rest of the offense, o-line included. The D is definitely going to have to step up if the Birds want to make the playoffs. Regardless I'm excited for the season to start.

Not sure how he is garbage since he had (slightly) better numbers than Ryan in the game. Now I like Ryan better and hope he gets the nod for opening day, but I think Redman could be a good back up. Later, QD.

Redman is a solid back-up but dont get too involved in preseason numbers. Redman was throwing against the back-ups while Ryan was throwing against the first liners.

Oh I'm completely aware of pre-season as opposed to regular. But I like to see guys have good games no matter what, you know. Later, QD.

...lol I don't think there is ANY doubt that Ryan will be the starter for the whole season (unless he gets hurt). All I'm saying is that Redman made multiple throws on that last drive that were very close to being picked off and I don't think he deserves as much praise as his numbers show. He was trying to force the ball in there and if he's to play during the regular season that's not going to cut it.

Our defense must be in witness protection because I did not see them yesterday. Brent Grimes is athletic, but the guy is just too short to play corner. I can just see it now, the other team gets into the redzone and it's fade pass to his side all day long for the TD. Chris Houston is straight garbage and it's time to move on from him. He couldn't turn his head around even if Halle Berry was standing behind him naked. I pray that nothing happens to Abe because with Jamal on the other side it's like a vacation for the o-line on his side. I hope Sidbury gets the starting job over him.

Offense is good to go and it was nice to see Turner still running over folks.

I don't think he'll get much playing time this year, unless he has some kind of miraculous turn-around. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets cut...

The Falcons defense really sucks. They will have to shoot every game out to win, if the defense doesn't step up.
