I love harry potter. I have to re-read the book before I go see it in theatre's however. I don't want to be the lost black little girl.![]()

I don't like going opening week cause all the parents like to take their bad ass kids that won't shut the fak up. I mean damn. I don't pay 20 bucks to hear some kid cry cause Harry got knock on his ass, or because Voldermort gives them nightmares. I mean ron weasley doesn't cry as much as the kids.Originally Posted by drpepper14

i mean come on, i've waited 9 months, STFU!
I'm ready!!!! I love Harry Potter!!! I been ready when it was SUPPOSE to come out the first time, then they pushed it back to July. GAH!!!!
My boyfriend is better than you...
I feel you on that one. I was watching Transformers and ppl actually brought their kids to see that movie. I mean it is borderline Rated R, and those little bastids was crying and screaming it was not coo. I don't blame the kids but their dumb ass parents.Originally Posted by drpepper14

Bite your tongue sir, the new one is mischievous and more like the Dumbledore in the books. I'm really excited about this new movie, I can finally exclaim how hot Emma Watson has gotten too, I'm no longer a dirty old man. I'm actually thinking about Imaxing this movie too.Originally Posted by bowdown201

Movie was ok.
But now the question is............Who is hotter? Hermione or Genny?

Hermoine by far bro.

Depends which movie. The first dumbledore was more like the one in the book. The second one was kind of off in movie 3-5. With Goblet of fire being WAY off on how dumbledore was.Originally Posted by okra1981
But in half blood prince. He was actually very close and should have been more like that in the past movies.
Now saying that. Half blood prince wasn't bad at all. I don't see why they put that shit with the weasly's house burning in there. That wasn't even in the book. They also left out alot of stuff again. But it still kept some what close to the book.

I think you meant Ginny.Originally Posted by qwick
Movies suck. If you've read the books. The problem is that the books are too long to include everything in a movie.

I liked the movie, but obviously unhappy with its comparison to the book.
No battle @ Hogwarts/around Hagrid's hut
No Dumbledore funeral
No Dumbledore trying to persuade draco to go into hiding and telling him that Voldemort probably expects him to die
Ginny didn't hide the potions book, Harry does in the book which leads to him finding the tiara horcrux in the 7th book
No mention of Grindewald
No explanation of the connected chests in diagon alley and the room of requirement (or at least how the one got into hogwarts)
No intro or explanation of Fenrir Grayback
Tonks rescues harry (not luna) on the train after draco petrifies him, breaks his nose, and leaves him under his cloak
Harry is not paralyzed under his cloak by dumbledore before he is killed (to keep him from interfering I presumed)
The scene with the weasley house burning down is not supposed to happen, so I guess it will be rebuilt in the 7th because a lot of the book takes place there
Lupin and Tonks are not open about their relationship yet (they are holding hands in the 6th movie)
NO VOLDEMORT??????
No meeting with the muggle prime minister which I think needs to be shown instead of just mentioning in the 5th movie that he has been warned
No talk of lucius in Azkaban
George losing an ear in the hogwarts battle
I could go on, but it's been a year since I read the 6th book which I have now started again lol
Scenes that better be in the 7th/8th movie
- The meeting at the Malfoys with voldemort and all of the death eaters
- Everyone being held hostage and escaping from the malfoys
- The multiple harry potter scene when they must escape the dursleys and a bunch of people are killed
- The break in at Gringotts
- The EPIC battle scene at hogwarts that should take up like 30 min of the movie AT LEAST
- Harry watching Nagini kill snape and then finding out his true loyalties
- A lot of scenes of Harry, Hermione, and Ron in hiding and on the run
- Voldemort flying without a broom across europe hunting down the elder wand (I thought it was awesome because it something pretty much no one can do)
- Mention of the elder wand and how it changes hands (This is ultimately why voldemort dies, he tries to kill harry with it twice when in fact harry is the true master of it @ the time)
- Visits to Harry's childhood home and the town in which dumbledore grew up
- The book about dumbledore and his sortid past with his family and being an elitist pure blood
- Break in @ the ministry of magic
- Snape running hogwarts acting like a death eater and constantly outcasting friends of harry's
- The deaths of one of the weasley twins, lupin, tonks, mad eye moody, and hedwig
- The final scene with harry married to ginny, hermione and ron married, and running into an older draco when they are all sending their kids off to their first year @ hogwarts
Im sure there are more i'd like to see, but I probably won't even see all of these
I can't wait for the 7th/8th movies to come out though, hopefully with at least 5 hours of screen time they can make up for all of the important missed info they left out in 6 which leads to a ton of stuff in the 7th book. Without it, the 7th book/movie makes no sense.
QFT. That's why I would never waste money going to see these movies. I just wait to see how bad they suck on HBO.Originally Posted by drpepper14

I haven't seen it yet, I shall hide my eyes of this thread and not mention to my girlfriend what I've already seen, but on a more important topic, both Ginny and Hermione are both really hot now, I'm partial to gingers, so Ginny might win out. I don't feel like a pedo at all because they are both really close in age and I've thought that Emma Watson was a beautiful girl for a movie or so now, it's only natural, now they are both of age and they are extremely beautiful women.

Both are hot. End of Story.
I would've liked to be Harry in this movie, and Ron/Harry in the next 2 lol
George doesnt lose his ear till the 7th book when they take Harry to the burrow. I started reading as soon as I got home from the movie cause I couldnt remember who the hell R.A.B wasOriginally Posted by drpepper14

LOL dang there are some die-hards in here!!!!
I thought the movie was good, but had a horrible ending IMO. I agree, they skipped a lot of events out the book, they could have put it in the movie instead of having a 15 minute long ending of the 3 looking at the sky.
My boyfriend is better than you...
seen it today, it was a good movie. Just a little long IMO..

Yeah the whole time they were sitting in the astronomy tower I was thinking "If you end it here with them just sitting and talking about leaving Hogwarts and you skipped all of this other important stuff i'm going to throw my drink"
Those were the exact words that went through my head and then they panned to fawkes in the sky and the movie was over....WTF!
Either way I still loved the movie lol
I saw it today, and it was very good.
okay well damnit reading the last post just screwed the movie for me. i havnt seen it yet!

Finally saw the movie, I thought that it was good in keeping with the whole feel of the book, it's its own entity, therefore it gets to paraphrase and such. I think of it like Hitchhiker's Guide, every version is going to be a little different, just as long as it keeps to the same basic story and quality of entertainment, then it's good.
I think that it worked pretty well in making the book fans happy and still carrying it's own story for those that only watch the movies (which is the reason why some shortcuts need to be made and thus piss off us book readers).
As for the movie, awesome visual effects, great story (of course), and dammit I can't wait until the next installment.

yeah november 2010 is a LONG way away for me...i'd do anything to just be on the set everyday haha
At least when # 7 comes out, they are only holding off the 8th movie until may 2011, so only a 6 month wait on that one lol
They can't hold it off any longer, they risk losing the audience at that point. Look at how Kill Bill was split to grow an even bigger following, that way everyone was amped by the DVD release just prior to the second installment. I just hope they don't try to pull a Lord of the Rings or Pirate of the Caribbean bull, that would just piss me off.
