I think when you have a game like this, to release it on the 360 is kinda a slap in the face to the fans.

I mean you RARELY see titles that normally push the envelope pop up on the same platform. MGS seems to jump to different platforms, so did GT, etc

IMO the last racing game should have been GRID. THe graphics were REALLY good, with the playstation consoles, there was always improvements. This looks to be the same game as 2, with just more cars.
I kind of agree with you. I think that it's odd to put it on this system but with the success of the last one why not. So long as this one is a sizeable jump from the last one then it will be ok. But from what I understand COD5 pretty much pushed the 360 to the edge of its graphical limits.

I think the other reason for the push on the current platform is that GT5 is promised to be out by christmas this year.

From what I hear Nintendo and Microsoft are already developing new platforms but I haven't heard much.
