So, I got a ps3 and xbox360, and the xbox never does this, but sometimes the screen blacks out, no sounds, for like 1 second, and it comes back on.
I have a HDMI cable, tv is 1080p.
Anyone here ever had a problem like this?

I have both as well, same setup, and my ps3 hasn't done anything like that before. Any type of warranty?
mine does it with the sound, itll lose sound and i have to shut the TV off and turn it back on.
Problem with the HDMI cable IMO or HDMI port on your TV. Try a different cable

Where did you by the PS3? And how long have you had it?
Will work for food, car parts, or three stripe apparel. And not necessarily in that oder.
if you have a surround sound just use optical cable for your sound

My PS3 use to do that on my plasma.
It was quite random. Maybe a 1-3 second black screen.
I still got sound but no picture, and then it would come back. No matter what game or what resolution.
It ended up being the HDMI cable.
thanks for all the input guys. i will try a different cable then.
I was having an issue with running HDMI through my surround sound receiver, I wouldn't even get picture. Once I bypassed the receiver and went direct HDMI into the plasma it worked fine, and I just use optical for audio. Don't know if maybe you have the same setup or not.
My 60GB PS3 does that also but it's setting the video feed to the optimal setting of the game, most games on the PS3 run standard at 720p but when your in the PS3's XMB it will be at 1080p. It's normal for it to black the screen out. Unless the PS3 or tv are completely shutting off then that is another story.
