Slipknot Live - Gwinette Civic Center
What a fucking show! Opening band(Trivium) was decent but the 2nd band I am not really a fan of(Coheed).
Slipknot of course sold the show. The crowd was involved, they played the hits and the songs that get the crowd into a frenzy!!! The new singles were amazing live!
I can't wait till they return. Well worth the price of admission!

....Sorry but FUCK Slipknot. What kind of "metal" band tours with Coheed and Cambria?? No honesty, name another real metal band that would think of that option.
I can say Ive seen Slipknot once in concert. It was a great concert. However, I will NEVER see them again. Not after this shit.

It is an opening band. I walked into a bit late and Trivium was 1/2 through their set. I didn't give a shit. I was there to get crazy to Slipknot.

Trivium just got caught up the aspiration of playing with a big name like Slipknot.
I havent listened to analog radio in a very long time. Ive only listened to satelite radio for the last 3 years at work. If its not working for some reason, I work in silence. Radio rock is crap, plain and simple.
But I guess I have "have horribly fucked views on how things work" since I listen to bands like Lamb of God, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Cradle of Filth, and Job for a Cowboy.

Some people ITT sound like music snobs. Who are you to claim what 'metal' is? Who are you to be the decided factor on what 'radio rock' is? You seriously claiming that Physcosocial, the title track on All Hope is Gone is 'radio rock'? So same genre as Nickleback and Shinedown? They are pandering to radio stations to play it? Well if they are great, I like to hear it on the radio
I like bands for their music and the show they put on. Hate on Slipknot all you want, you just sound like a stuck up 'metalhead'. Of course as I am reading your post my mind says "Wait for it, he is going to list these badass metal bands" and guess what? YUP! You did it! I like most of the bands you listed as well AND I love Slipknot. So what?
Get over yourself and listen to music for the artist. Their songs are awesome and the show is GREAT live. Go check it out and report back.

i dont like coheed an cambria, but musically, they are EXTREMELY talented. You cannot deny them that. Its like John Mayer, not a fan, but he is prob one of the best guitarists of our generation.

I hate it when people rip on a band for 'selling out' or 'pandering to get radio play'. People don't make a band and go "Hey guys, let's make a band and never make any money. I love living in Jimmy's Mom's basement and eating noodles for dinner!"
Let's be real guys. Bands and musical artist career is for making money. Sure many of them love the fans and they have their style but they also have to consider their life and family. You can't live on 'not selling out'.
Slipknot and many others get airplay on strictly rock stations. They aren't Linkin Park getting In The End played on B98.5. Their stuff is decently heavy and their guitars and vocals in terms of metal are definitely very nice. Hating them because they 'sold out' or 'pandered to get radio airplay' is just being a damn music snob. They haven't released anything in quite some time and All Hope is Gone dropped and the single Physcosocial is very good. Sure it is no (sic) or Pulse of the Maggots but it is a good track and was amazing live.
People need to get off their high horse when it comes to music. Music taste is ALWAYS an opinion. There is no right or wrong answer. One persons suck is another persons musical genius. I think some of the 'metal heads' are some of the WORST when it comes to this. "Band X sucks and I listen to *Insert all the trademark I am a true metal head and I listen to these bands*". It happens everywhere. Yes you are definitely 'true metal' because you hate Slipknot but love Cannibal Corpse.

Case in point, the Offspring is one of my favorite bands, i still listen to Smash regularly.
I like every album they have ever made. Sure they have their "radio" singles that the teeny kids like, but there are usually some good decent songs on their albums that still rock pretty hard like their older stuff. Did they sell out? or just become successful?
BLink182 IMO sold out, they just lost their heart after enema of the state. Nothing will ever be as good as Dude Ranch ever again

The show wasn't that great, it was good show but it wouldn't even make it on my top 100 shows list.
Trivium blew ass, CandC sucked a huge cock and while they may be talented you sure can't fucking tell it by there music.
Slipknot was ok, theres a lot of crap going on...on stage and overall it was an entertaining show. I'm really now a huge fan of their music so I was bored most of the show
you havent seen trivium suck until you see them from the tour for the release of The Crusade album. it was a new kind of suck. they played rather well the other night. not quite like they were back in 05 but they didnt suck, to me at least

Cradle kicked ass.The two opening bands sucked though. First one got way too monotonous(sp? haha) and the middle band was about as boring as boring gets.
And the argument of defending slipknot. I don't hate them because they are very popular and have sold lots and lots of records, nor do I care if they are on the radio or not. Just never really got into them, and I personally think they lack talent. Anyways though, Amon Amarth is coming in the next couple months, that is a must see, and Bodom is playing on my 21st birthday, that show will kick ass. It is a shame they are not headlining, but lamb of god isn't too bad.
