How do you not know what your own user name is? The only way I can think of is that the PS3 you use is shared between different people.
Anyway the online for this game isn't that fun since everybody only plays either Ken, Ryu, or Sagat. From what I hear it's mostly Ken. I haven't noticed any lag when playing against my friends which is nice. Who is everybody's main character?

I have to say, as much as I love playing this game I nearly broke my fucking controller screaming at the top of my lungs at 4 AM last night because people are so damn cheap when they play online
If you play online, prepare to block low almost every attack because I've been noticing this trend of people sweeping after every move following a super/ultra combo finish. that shit is annoying and no matter what I do it seems like there's no way out of it
has anyone found a strategy against these types of players? because I've looked on shoryuken.com and I think I'm a decent player but haven't found anything to defend against these players besides trying to use my focus attack but Ken players use their flaming shoryuken to repel it
yea its called quit suckin. :p ive only been able to play like 10 online games. for some reason i get disconnected everytime i fight somone. i think its cause im using that shitty ass wireless adapter for the xbox. but so far im undefeated. guile ftw!

Why do most people play freakin' Ken on SF4 online rank games? He's not the best character in the game. Freakin Zangief is!!!!! That dude have some nice setup if you can master the green glove move into the spinning pile driver.

I agree. Ken is just easy to play and his moves look good. Ken and Ryu are the easiest characters to play if you are new to the SF series or not really good at SF.

Shiet, You can parry in your own way if you use the focus attack wisely. A good person to use that has very good defense in parrying is Gouken; he's powerful in offense and defense. If you're quick enough, you can use a focus attack again before they hit you twice since two hits/special move will knock out a focus attack. This game is more advanced then what'd you call *basic*. Combo's and Tactics are out there to learn and utilize. I've seen some people who fight hardcore and some people who just use a regular high kick and high punch and still win the fights. The thing with the Gouken, is that those arent parry's those are counter attacks. Im familiar with the focus attacks, its great, but its no parry system. Its a good fighting game, but compared to snk vs. capcom 2...its very basic. balrog was my fav character, only because he was fun to play with. Everyone else i played with seemed to be limited to the same moves. Im a 360 owner! i cant fuck with that playstation thingie...
I think it's great that the game finally returned to it's fundamental roots. Parrying, air blocking, ect... It was all unnecessary fluff that took away from the heart of the game. Don't get me wrong, I can play Alpha 3 and what-not as well, but SFIV brings out the best in the franchise IMO.

Snk vs Capcom 2 has more characters and cool 3 on 3 VS battle system and also hitting combos connects better,
SFIV is originated from the first series with very detailed graphics, a very detailed fighting system that has combos that will do more and connect more to deal massive damage. You can simply do a combo with both the super and ultra if you can connect and majority of your life will dissappear. I like SFIV better because it is up to date and never bores me. Without the online feature; I'd probably be bored of fighting the cpu. I wouldn't say SFIV is a basic game but it will be a classic to what the future will bring us in the future.
If they could make a ps3/xbox360 version of snk vs capcom2 and detail it a bit. It would be awesome but it would take alot of legalization and $$$$$ to make it happen.
