i have played organized football before, and every offense has intentions on being fast paced, ryan had a edge over flacco simply because 1. ryans success received high media attention due to the vick/petrino mess 2. he had a unique situation he was drafted into.

Don't get me wrong, I think he would have deserved ROTY. He's made some great plays. He just doesn't seem like the type of QB that runs a faster paced and riskier offense like the Falcons do.

There's a difference between fast paced and no huddle though. Alot of veteran QB's cant even pull of an efficient no huddle offense, and the ones that can are generally considered some of the best. but ya, not gonna get into the whole flacco/ryan thing tho, they are both great QB's.. I honestly couldn't believe he didn't get any votes for ROTY, but ya... I think the correct player got it, despite what whiney ass Chris Johnson from the Titans says.

I played football too, and every offense is different. With the Ravens it is a lot more about taking care of the ball, they're a predominately defensive team. Flacco isn't pushed to go score a lot of points. imo there is a lot more pressure on a QB when an offense like Atlanta's is run. Especially considering the no huddle offense, and the fact that our defense definitely is not as good all adds up to a lot more pressure on the QB to make plays.
