Jeezy-not intelligent enough to be taken seriously. Just another guy that wants a black president purely for the sake of having one.

Nas-extremely intelligent guy, definitely should be taken seriously with his words. However I do disagree with him seeming to have an opinion that Obama is going to save black people or something, they're not looking into the real politics of the matter.

Black people don't necessarily need Obama. They're looking too much into the color of his skin instead of trying to find someone that will truly make a difference, seeing as they're ignoring that Obama is politically inexperienced and is not going to make Nas or Jeezy's life any different. Yes, having a black president will be a large step for the black community, but most rappers and other black celebrities are supporting him for the wrong reasons.

I dont think that this is a fair observation considering that their opinions and views may be more than what they put on a track. Jeezy may not be the most intelligent but clearly he is a prominent voice in the community. Maybe not your community but def in mine. I think it is great when someone that may not know enough motivates others to LEARN something about a system they may not be aware of. I am not black and I have been an Obama supporter since he made his speech at the DNC when they announced Kerry as their presidential candidate. His speech (his rhetoric) made me want to look into his past and learn more about him. I supported his campaign when he ran against Keyes (also a black man/Republican) in Chicago. Actually, about 3 years ago...I also supported McCain. He was very vocal against the Bush administration and has been quoted a thousand times stating his opinions against the war, but now all of a sudden "100 years if we have to." If i remember correctly he is the same man that was unsure what party to choose because he couldnt decide b/w the Republican Party or the Democratic. In Kerry vs. Bush, I voted Kerry because I felt that Kerry was the lesser of 2 evils. In Obama vs. McCain, I will vote Obama, because IN MY OPINION, he is the better candidate. Inexperienced in who's eyes? Compared to you or me, nah I dont think so. Compared to McCain sure, becasue he doesnt have 89475947923479257934758 years...but neither did Kennedy, and he messed up too, but his charisma made him and his name a legend.

Sorry for ranting... I get a little long winded every once and a while.

Lol at you assuming I like McCain. They're both idiots, but black people are acting like if McCain wins they're going to be enslaved or something. You think Jeezy has any problems under the current system? He's ****ing rich, and the wrong person to be speaking out for Obama. If anyone needs to be supporting Obama and the black community it needs to be someone with political knowledge and intelligence, not a guy who has to resort to mentioning that his lambo is blue, and his rims are too.

What in the world gave you that impression? A bit much dont you think? I mean Catholics felt Kennedy was their savior when he won b/c he wasnt Protestant. I just see it the same way to me in this presidential race except for the fact that this time it isnt religion, it's race.

As far as the only people that should be backing Obama and the black community being someone with political knowledge, dude are you serious?

You do realize that minorities voting is far from what USA wants. Think about it. if indeed the system worked as easy as everyone makes it seem. Then wouldnt the United States children born to illegal immigrants that came here for the sole purpose of having a child that can prosper in the US eventually get involved in politics and become prominent voters, that with help from lobbyist and insiders, help to pass bills that help make it easier for others from around the world to come here? Think about this... This is what would happen if everyone was this educated. But not everyone is this educated so I am sorry but once again, I think that anyone that goes out of their way to sing, preach, spread the word for their beliefs are worth commending because there are plenty of people that really just dont care.

Don't generalize or assume. How do you figure that? Stupid comment sir, stupid. Its like saying white people think Obama will kick all the white people out of the country.

If anything Obama is putting a new perspective on top of this countrys tired, tried, and old views. He understands the younger generation, our purpose, and puts emphasis on the future. EDUCATION is whats ****ing this country now. THE LACK OF IT. People under the age of 30 are next in line to take America to the next level. I applaud Bush for the No Child Left Behind.....but we need more!

I look at it like an advertising firm failing to get account and clients. Always sticking to what "worked", but the results are falling. They fail to look to the young person, the intern, or even the world in front of them. Until that day when the "inexperienced" person steps up and lays the smack on thier old asses, lol. Sales are up, clientle is up, and the company has a fresh rejuvenation to work on.

If this country keeps leaning on the old, corrupt, second agenda having people we are due to be ****ed worse.

Sorry dude, slowlybtngu is pwning your ass in this little debate. Just like she said, you are calling Jeezy and idiot based on what he says in his songs. Have you ever had a one on one with him? Have you sat down and talked politics with Jeezy? Unless you have, then stop saying he has no political knowledge. Thats being as ignorant as assuming that black people think Obama is their savior. Because that is not true, I know a few black people who will not be voting for Obama because they do not agree with his views. They dont agree with McCain either, so they are just not voting at all. Sort of like me, except I am white and they are black. But we share the same views.

I dont know why but I died laughing at that part.

Actually I was surprised by how many black people are disgusted with the obama campaign because they feel like it is a race thing.

Some what back on topic... Have you all heard lupe Fiasco's song dumb it down? I think that this is an example of that(the song.) The easiest way to get people to listen is if you relate to them on their level not try to bring them to yours. He ties in the cars because whether some like to admit it or not, we spend thousands upon thousands on our vehicles, all the while living in an apartment or renting a house. I mean reality is a pain in the butt to face but he really is reaching out to HIS community with this song. I know what it's like to have my mom not at home while my father was in jail. I may not be "street" enough to be considered "hard" but the song caught my attention.

i feel that too many n¡ggers wanna vote for Obama BECAUSE he is HALF black. and that aint right. It sorta disgusts me. i wish they'd dig deeper and realize there's more to the man than his Fathers side.
Hell... i was a McCain fan after he was on the DailyShow but i didnt appreciate the
fact that he started butt sucking and renigged on half the shizz he's said in the past.

but any who... INDEED black n¡ggers should learn more about Obama before they up and decide to vote for him because he's HALF black.

97% of IA prolly can't even deicpher that lyrical genius!

That is how life is, you should be able to realte to everyone. I strongly feel the President of the United States should understand every struggle that our country's people endure. Then, and only then, will we see true progress and success.

Obama is the closest, McCain has no clue. His idea of getting in touch with the black commuity was going to the National NAACP convention, lol. Go to the community meetings to make an impact. Same with all other mintority groups!

Obama is not popular b/c he SEEMS (IMO!!!) out of touch with the older traditional white americans. He needs to make a better push showing he understands and respects they way things have been done to keep America afloat to win them over.

You and that word... The sad thing is that you're using it in the right context. If you vote for him for the sheer fact that he looks black (even though he is only half) then yes that is a "n!gger vote." I would have to agree.

And as you stated, McCain was great!!!!!!! (about 2-3years ago)

I REALLY WISH THAT WORD WOULD GO AWAY

Whoa, I see your point, but calm down! Talk is cheap, education is the only thing that will save America. The Obama campaign has done alot in the area of educating people on the economy, the presidental race, the candidates, and what each stands for.....mind you in a unbiased manner.

Also, that is the same reason that white people will not vote for him. Many whites WILL NOT vote for a black person.

You know what is funny though? He lived with his (white)Vet grandfather and (white)traditional working grandmother for most of his life. You would think that he would be able to relate closely to that community. That is what I dont understand. I mean I know that in his biography he stated that he had a battle of what side to choose because when you see him, you see a black man. I wonder if that had/has anything to do with it. He even mentions how his grandmother was afraid to ride the public bus because there was a menacing black man that frightened her. It's crazy you know, like having to live with the fact that to an extent his grandmother is intimidated by this whole "black thing" but this is still the woman that would give her life for HIM. It's deep. (I hate that phrase, but it applies here)

Jeezy may not be deep but he brought back memories with the line I stated above. Then again deep wounds kill but paper cuts are the ones you feel the longest.

I agree! I cannot imagine growing up in his shoes. I will say that, IMO, his grandmother probably did not expose him to as much of "the times". Make sense? She loved him like no other, and understood his dilemna.

People are stubborn which gives everyone the chance to conquer. Obama has a lot of work left, and I have faith in him to begin the patchwork that America needs.

I think that the term would go away once people stray away from it's conotations. I mean I still hear gook, chink, or sp!c, but no where near as much as I hear n!gger.

You are so retarded. I will admit this though, without you, I probably wouldnt have given "rap" a second look considering that I just felt that they spoke about things that didnt apply to my life. Now I realize what they speak IS MY LIFE. I cant get with the Rocko's of the world, but when I hear lupe, Nas, and even Wayne on a couple of tracks... You cant help but to be provoked to feel a certain way... I love my best friend ... you're still ignorant as all get out with the "rapper" comment....lol

I wish "end of time" was longer, I love trumpet so I dig "too late," 'Suede" is too sexy for me, I felt like a little kid listening to my parents records... I am not ready.

SLOWLYbtngU +1. Damn when you speak you put nukkas in check don't cha? Ima read the rest of your comments and learn something.

P.S. To all others Jeezy even said he liked McCain.

Shits real out here. You betta keep a strap and learn somethin'

I knew you guys were going to freak out about that lol.... it was a little joke. But I stand by the fact that Jeezy is definitely the wrong guy to be representing Obama. Definitely gives off the wrong impression and that's not what people should be listening to. Nothing wrong with black people having a sense of pride that they finally have a candidate that can properly represent their interests, instead of having Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. The black community should be extremely proud for this advancement, but Jeezy definitely did not get the message right. Put yourself in Obama's postion, do you want "the snowman" pubicly representing you? I can guarantee you a lot of people are going to critisize this, and while I personally dont agree with that, I'm not the media. You guys think I'm bad? Go watch the news and see what they say.
