    Default Kimbo VS. UFC Fighters...

Imo i think Kimbo would get worked against some of the fighters in the UFC. Everybody keeps sayin that Kimbo is bada$$ and this and that but who has he fought thats worth a damn. I mean look at his latest fight with James THompson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3oZy2oEuco) it was rediculous. He was gettin worked on the ground and he wond because of that dudes ear! IMO I would love to see kimbo go up against Chuck Liddell or or Silva. He doesnt have enough ground game to talk trash like hes doin. Sry if this is a repost . Other Views?

He's got like level 2 of 10 for stamina. Looks like he gets tired quick.

I agree that Kimbo is not all he's cracked up to be...But I still don't think that Liddell or Silva could take him...Liddell has got way to sloppy of a style to work Kimbo...But yes, Kimbo is a joke.

Kimbo has power, thats it. He's slow, no stamina, and definetly not the greatest on the ground. His Jiu-Jitsu is sub-par, and his wrestling skills need more time.

But, do I think that Kimbo could become a force in the UFC? Yes. Maybe not in the next year, maybe not even the next 2 years. When he gets a good gym backing him, quits worrying about his street fighter image so much, and actually trains he can and will be one of the best heavyweights out there today.

Fight I would like to see: Kimbo Slice Vs. Tim Sylvia... I think it would be a pretty good fight. Both need to polish up there ground game some. Might make an interesting watch.

Thats actually pretty true me and my buddy were talkin about that the other day. I mean its obvious hes got stand up skills but like you said he just needs to work on his stamina and ground. Even Dana Whit said hed give Kimbo a shot at Chuck once he fights someone worth a d amn. but i mean damn how long will that take

Liddell would wreck Kimbo like theres no tomorrow.

Kimbo has potential, but it will be a good while before its tapped. However he is training with Bas Rutten so that will help a lot. Nonetheless don't expect Kimbo to become a serious contender for atleast another 2-3 years.

yea ive read a lot from the kimbo nuthuggers...anyone who says kimbo would tear apart some of the top heavyweights from the UFC and around the world, is a complete noob to the sport of MMA. those people make those comments off of what they've seen on youtube. yea those youtube fights are fun to watch, but they are against a bunch of nobodys.

i dont dislike kimbo by any mean. i really enjoy watching him. But, like ive said before, he has ALOT of growing to do and he has the perfect trainer(Bas Rutten) in his corner to guide him forward.

Even though kimbo's standup is his strength, he would get destroyed by any of the top fighters in the UFC/world such as those mentioned above like Liddell, Silva, Coture, Crocop, Sylvia, and so on. The level of experience from the top fighters far exceeds that of kimbo's.

Liddell may look sloppy at times, but that's his style. He throws strong powerful haymakers from many different angles. He is considered a counterpuncher, and is one of the best in the game at that. Kimbo would come in with a few punches, but Liddel would just lay back for a little bit then come out with a counter and put Kimbo on the mat.

As far as Tim Sylvia goes, Tim would most likely finish Kimbo in the first round. Tim's much larger with a much better reach. Eventhough Tim looks goofy as hell when he fights, his standup is very good and he has good power behind his shots.

Give Kimbo some time and experience and he'll definitely grow...but he doesn't have much time since he did get into MMA pretty late and hes at an old age now...

Kimbo has got crazy knock out power, but he would get pwnt in the UFC. Frank Mir will submit his ass quicker than he did Brock Lesner.

I will agree, Kimbo has no stamina! But if he ever get that straight, he will be a beast! Well, with a little bit of ground work too!

Look up some of his stuff. I have the pride fight videos of him. He destroyed the current UFC hw champ 2 times. As far as Kimbo's knock out power, that was put to the test against James Thompson, who was TKOed by Fedors brother in 11 seconds of the first round. If kimbo had the power in his punches he should have done the same but he doesnt.

kimbo is black. He has nothing but power behind those punches, but like most african american's they run out of steam quite easily. I'm sure if you put him up against someone who is in the ufc and in the same weight division that kimbo would be on the floor not knowing what's going on.

uhhh.....ever heard of Anderson Silva? He's black and is undefeated in the UFC. Honestly, that has got to be the most ignorant post in this thread...

Holy smokes! He's black? All this time I thought he was brazilian or some kind of hispanic!

as already stated, Kimbo has excellent punching power. however, MMA is a chess match in which any and all elements of contact come into play. It amazes me to hear all of the training and different art forms some of the guys have mastered. Hell, you have to know the majority of them to be able to protect yourself.

The Kimbo element is all about dollars. They will continue to toss him fighters to eat until the bankroll taps out. Only then will they feed him to the true warriors.

Oh yea, Anderson Silva is nice but at 185 I don't know how he would fare against the heavy hands of a true heavyweight. That would be interesting to see

Now that Silva's moving up to 205 we will get to see that happen. He ****ed Irvin up(I think that was his name) and that guy has serious knockout power. Silva vs. Kimbo, Kimbo would get his ass handed to him. Silva can last till the end and he's twice as fast/accurate with his punches, plus he's really well rounded.

Anderson Silva is no jk and he is brazilian,But kimbo would do good in the heavy class untill it hits the floor then its game over. The thing most people fail to realize is that kimbo has great knockout power and he has good accurancy with his punches to be so big. On top of that he likes to be the 1 setting the pace and even thoe there alot of bad a$$ fighters in the heavy weight i am not sure they can work with his pace right off the bell. I mean here is this guy that has 75% of the croud cheering him on because he is a big hit on youtube and has been for awhile,he coming straight at u and u no and have seen his pace.I promise u some of the big heavy weight guy's can not move at his pace and would need to get it to the ground the moment the bell rang because if not they might be on the espn (highlights) getting KO<

Yea SOME may not be able to, but after the first round he's tired as hell, and if you play sports you should know endurance isn't exactly easy to come by, especially in the context of UFC fighting. On top of that, even if a fighter did have to take him to the ground, that's part of the game. A win is a win, whether it's by decision, submission, or knockout. He hasn't fought anyone worth fighting, I give him full credit as a human being because he is a good person and just wants to make a name for himself, but he has a long way to go before he would be considered to fight UFC.

all great points alot of ppl talk shi* about kimbo but the fact is proven and been delt with plenty of times. And this is the #1 and i mean the #1 reason ppl love anderson S just as much as they like to see kimbo... THEY LOVE TO SEE PEOPLE GET KNOCKED OUT!! simple as that fu**, the tapout shi* no 1 cares about it as much as seeing some 1 face get open up and they get rocked kimbo all his fights on youtube where straight up brawls no laying down, the only way to win was to KO some 1 or quit. anderson S is a very good fighter and ppl no they gonna see him throw some nice shots and land great kicks they like to see a brawl. Sand man was not ready for some 1 that is that laid back in the ring.Anderson just did what he does and that was finish the fight and not let the judges get a chance and it makes UFC $ so they gonna keep pushing his fights just like kimbo's fights because people want to see some 1 get KO

But on the real i don't think kimbo will ever see UFC.I might be wrong but 1 thing he has to do if he wants to try to get in on the UFC turf! and that is start respecting other fighters because UFC>kimbo he has none of the skills to hit the ground with any of the ppl in UFC and that is the fact.He must learn not all fights gonna end standing up because even with all his power it only takes 1 mess up and your (tapout) and i am sure big a$$ brock figured that out his 1st fight in the ufc...

Well he also might never make the UFC because of his image, I'm actually pretty sure Dana White spoke about not wanting someone like Kimbo in the UFC. He's a straight up brawlin' big ass bastard, nothing else. When it all comes down to it he's just a street fighter, he probably wouldn't even be able to compete standing up with a lot of UFC guys. The fact is he's never been tested, but I would love to see it.

At this point Kimbo is nothing more than a joke. His standup is way overrated. Yes he has power, but he plants his feet and uses a traditional boxing style, and one that's not all that technically sound. He leaves himself wide open for leg kicks, double legs, etc. This is all beyond the fact that he has ZERO ground game, ZERO TD defense, and ZERO cardio.

People can talk all they want about Brock, but Brock actually has credentials to his name with his NCAA D1 title, trains with one of the top camps in the country, and is coming off a win from a TOP 15 HW in Heath Herring. He's also shown major improvement during each fight he's had, especially with his standup.

In the 3-4yrs I've been training, I've had the blessing to train with a lot of guys, seminar with BJ, Sherk was good friends with my wrestling coach Jeff Bedard, Paul Creighton who fought BJ (and is a Renzo Gracie black belt), and many others, and now have the opportunity to train with Ricardo Murgel (7th degree BJJ BB, and the guy who gave Nate Marquardt his BJJ black belt), and it's crazy to watch a lot of these guys try to compete at the elite level, with sub par training.

Kimbo needs to really get beat up by guys in gym that will push him to become better, or he's gonna be in for more embarrassing fights. He'd really be better off down in NM with Greg Jackson, or ATT in Florida. A serious strength/conditioning program would also do him some good, but I suspect, and from what I'm told from friends who train at XC in Vegas, he's not the most dedicated guy when it comes to getting his training in, and that simply won't cut it at the elite level.

I am sry man but brock was my favorite when he was in just straight up wrestling,But i honestly think when he fights some 1 that no how to strike unlike HH.I watched that fight and HH was scared of brock and really didn't even want to exchange with him, that is where i think brock is going to win his fights because ppl or scared of his size. ON the real thoe if some 1 gets in on him and opens his head up for 1 round i think ppl going to see what really happens to the pretty boy when he is taking punishment like he is giving it
I check sluts off my list like a maintnence man
I drive a low is3 just so it gives me a reason to drive super slow on these rough ga roads.

That doesn't make any sense. Heath Herring is in fact a STRIKER, and a pretty good/powerful one at that. Go watch his fights from Pride and you'll find that out. Even Kongo, who is a champion kickboxer, didn't wanna stand with him. His ground game and TD defense has always been his weakness, but that's why he trained with BJ Penn's team for this fight. Still, there's only so much you can do against an elite level wrestler as athletic as Brock.

Scared of Brock? I don't think so, not even close. We're talking about a guy whose fought Nog x3, Fedor, CC, and BIGGER more accomplished wrestlers than Brock. Tom Erikson was 300lbs, had MORE fights that Brock, and was also a champion wrestler, yet Heath beat him down pretty bad. Fear of Brock's size wasn't a factor at all. We're talking about a guy who has like 50 pro fights on an ELITE level. Heath couldn't do much to Brock because he severely underestimated him, and thought Brock was a one trick pony with his wrestling. He thought Brock would show no composure, and either make a mistake, or gas out. I can tell you this for sure, as I'm friends with the guy that does the scouting reports for all of Heath's opponents, and that's that they DID NOT expect Lesnar to have stand up skills with only a few years of training, and 2 pro fights. They also didn't expect him to do much other than try to take Heath down. After he got dropped with that big right hand, he just couldn't recover, and with a guy like Brock shooting in on you, you won't be able to stop it either way, let alone when you're battered and hurt.

Pure strikers are gonna get KILLED by Brock, because none can stuff his TD's. Plain and simple. Kongo is Brock's next opponent, and if you think he's gonna do any better than Heath, because he "knows how to strike" you're in for a big disappointment. He's gonna get taken down and beaten up. Probably lose a stoppage when Brock is pounding his face in.

Oh, and Brock being a pretty boy is pretty funny. I don't know how anyone could consider him a pretty boy. I've never heard anyone say anything like that in my life.

LOL!! OK u take all of HH fights and look at them, then look at the 1 with brock he don't even fight like the HH i am use to seeing in the cage.NOw ask yourself why is that? trust me look at him striking with every 1 else and then look at him strike against brock,he didn't even come close to trying to exchange with brock like he did every 1 else he has fought.. ANd i think when a close trainer with brock say's brock is a baby when getting hit, that should tell u something and by the way i never mentioned as kongo.

WTF? Did you even watch the fight? Brock dropped him 10 seconds into the fight and HH couldn't recover, so once again, what you're saying makes ZERO sense. Other than that, he looked exactly like the Heath Herring I've always seen. The HH that has trouble with champion wrestlers, and isn't a good scrambler. What "close trainer" said this about Brock? He only has TWO main trainers, one of which is Greg Nelson, the other of which is Marty Morgan. Please show me the interview, because I train with guys who are up at MMMA with him and Greg Nelson, and they've all told me the exact opposite.
