Oh no! This couldn't possibly be how hip hop started for one simple fact. The series of beef raps between BDP and The Juice Crew, known as the Bridge Wars, was about where hip hop started. This took place starting in late 1985/early 86. Hip hop, as we know it, started in 1979.

What set off the OG battles was a dude named Kool Moe Dee. He accused another cat named Busy Bee of ripping off another DJs name. That DJ was Luv Bug Starski. This all started in 1982.
