Exactly. 3G. good luck. The iPhone has been on the wrong network since the beginning.

CDMA with the Rev A on the Instinct is going to own ATT

Well I dont travel overseas, but why would you buy a phone for the occasional use overseas that is slow as fawk here, when you could buy a phone that moves at dsl speeds here, where you spend the majority of your time. Not to mention that there isnt a GSM network in the US that has decent coverage....

Actually the 3g Iphone will be a hell of a lot faster than the instinct on sprint. I have sprint nextel right now, and i can tell you that their network is slow as piss. However 3g is going to load at over 3x's the speed of the normal network. However for me in Macon, we wont have 3g for a few more months now, so im not going to do anything till then.

I love my iPhone. It's probably the best gadget I've bought in a loooong time.

Whenever I need a reminder, or need to write down a phone number or a quick to-do reminder, I can open iPhone. If I'm out to dinner and want to watch a movie, I can pull up movie times and theatres nearby. I can text message WAY faster than I could on my Blackberry. The iPod is an added bonus since I don't have to carry two things around. YouTube always helps pass away some time whenever waiting in a lobby, doctor's appt or something of that nature. I can check email on the fly. I can transfer money from Paypal if I sold something, check my bank accounts, investments, etc. I can Google a phone number for a business whenever I need. It saves time and it's convenient.

It seriously is everything it's cracked up to be.

The iPhone is definitely ahead of its time. but it was put on the wrong network. The instinct should definitely impress. It will be interesting to see what happens when the 3rd iPhone comes out. (Speculation is 4th Quarter or 1st Quarter '09)

This new iphone comes out on July 11th. With Everything you could need. the Samsung Instinct is nothing more than a Iclone.

What network would you suggest the Iphone be put on? Because as of tests lately ATT is one of the best networks out there. The only other one that fighting with it is Verizon.

I wasn't an Iphone fan until I own one.

3rd party developers are a lot out there. The Iphone by itself isn't worth it. But after unlocked and jailbreak it, it's loaded with features that I can use (MS Word, Powerpoint viewer, exchange, IMAP, Financial tracking, VNS, touchpad mouse, remote iTune controller, games, SNES Simulators, etc.). Mostly it's because it's OSX based, therefore, there are a lot of support for it. I have yet to see the phone offers tons of those features.

So far, I really like it I began to use my laptop less and less for my personal business but more with iphone. And to make it better, every data is synced automatically with my network at home. And this is on the slow EDGE network. :-p

Where can I get the phone unlocked and programs added? I've been reluctant to trust any websites because I don't want any information from my iPhone taken or viewed by other people. Do you pay for the unlocking or... ?

And I'm with you... I could not understand how anyone would pay $500+ for a phone until I got it. It's worth every penny.

All that plus with the new 3g Iphone, they are allowing 3rd party software companies to make software for it. As well as having Video Phone calls on the new 3g network. So now you can do video conferencing with it.

    The instinct offers that too.

****, even my Mogul will allow 3rd party programs. Of course Sprint hasnt offered a phone that was locked since the beginning of the year so that may have something to do with it. As far as I know, the Mogul, Touch, Instinct and iPhone are the only phones that fully support the 3rd party programs and such out of the newer generation of phones but the Instinct and iPhone are the only 100% Customizable.

I do the unlocking & jailbreak myself, as well as visiting forums, seeking people advice, etc. on what software to be used.

Another good thing is it's OSX based, so there are more supports from developers than other phones. It's easier for people to extract OSX sw and "convert" it to iphone platform.

The only thing that may have more developer support than iphone is a "winPhone" that's Windows NT based. But we haven't seen one yet. PDAs are the next closest thing.

Oh, I forgot, I'm going to try that VoIP thing with the iphone. I've heard many success stories about people making free international VoIP calls with it, and I'm anxious to try it out

*Yawn* Another so-called iphone killer that falls short. Great phone, yes. iPhone killer? Nope. File this one with the Voyager and lets move on.

But the comparison itself isn't fair: The iPhone is a software platform that is growing every day, soon to have a host of applications that put it squarely in the smartphone category along with BlackBerry, Palm and Windows Mobile. The Samsung Instinct will never be mistaken for a smartphone.

lol you did say "welcome to the end of your reign", which im pretty sure is more than enough to imply thats what you were hinting at. But I wasn't accusing you of saying that, I'm just sayin. Like I said, looks like its a damn good phone, but Samsung and Sprint are pretty obviously going for the iPhone's jugular, and it would appear that they've juuuust missed.

Looks more like an LG Voyager clone than an Iphone clone

I've tested Sprint's/CDMA's SUPERDUPEROMFGFASTINTERWEBZ speed vs. AT&T's 3g side by side. I had a Sprint customer come in trying to tell me how great his CDMA was, he pulled out his Q, I pulled out my 8525, we loaded a website of his choice side by side and my 8525 was done before his even got off of the white screen "searching for the site" And that was just a 8525, not a Tilt.

I've played with a few of these "Iphone Killers" and they're all garbage. Nowhere near as innovative as the Iphone.

I hated CARE, but I could definitely use its abilities right now. VAD ordered two phones yesterday for next day shipping and they wont be here for another day. Kinda pissed. Wish I could credit without using POP.

True, but the time you wanted to buy was this time last year. I bought 50 shares last year in late may @ $118.xx on a friends advise and when the IPhone came out it jumped to $190ish. So great call by him.

The stock will soon go up more with the new 3G phone as well as the "Big Apple" debate going on for NYC. If apple wins that, expect the stock to reach 260's or more.

Oh yea.. and look out for the Visa stock in Feb' 09.
