I wasn't an Iphone fan until I own one.

3rd party developers are a lot out there. The Iphone by itself isn't worth it. But after unlocked and jailbreak it, it's loaded with features that I can use (MS Word, Powerpoint viewer, exchange, IMAP, Financial tracking, VNS, touchpad mouse, remote iTune controller, games, SNES Simulators, etc.). Mostly it's because it's OSX based, therefore, there are a lot of support for it. I have yet to see the phone offers tons of those features.

So far, I really like it I began to use my laptop less and less for my personal business but more with iphone. And to make it better, every data is synced automatically with my network at home. And this is on the slow EDGE network. :-p

Where can I get the phone unlocked and programs added? I've been reluctant to trust any websites because I don't want any information from my iPhone taken or viewed by other people. Do you pay for the unlocking or... ?

And I'm with you... I could not understand how anyone would pay $500+ for a phone until I got it. It's worth every penny.

I do the unlocking & jailbreak myself, as well as visiting forums, seeking people advice, etc. on what software to be used.

Another good thing is it's OSX based, so there are more supports from developers than other phones. It's easier for people to extract OSX sw and "convert" it to iphone platform.

The only thing that may have more developer support than iphone is a "winPhone" that's Windows NT based. But we haven't seen one yet. PDAs are the next closest thing.

Oh, I forgot, I'm going to try that VoIP thing with the iphone. I've heard many success stories about people making free international VoIP calls with it, and I'm anxious to try it out

All that plus with the new 3g Iphone, they are allowing 3rd party software companies to make software for it. As well as having Video Phone calls on the new 3g network. So now you can do video conferencing with it.
