Attention iphone worshipers

at the moment, I'm leaning toward the sprint haters. I've been sitting here on the phone for an hour just trying to get my text to start working again. I'm really thinking about grabbing an iphone and going back to ATT when the new ones come out. $299 for that thing is too hard to pass up

Anyone know when that exclusive deal with AT&T is up? I'd like to get the 3g but I'm with Verizon

you wont be able to. iphone is a GSM phone. Verizon runs on CDMA

yep, new iphone is still exclusive to AT&T, and I think as long as Mr. Jobs keeps releasing phones, AT&T will always pick em up

it would have been nice to pay 199 for an iphone and not pay $70 a month for a base plan but i guess they gotta f*ck you somehow.

meh. nothing you can do. I've been told by all the tech people I've talked to that it's an 'engineering issue'.

Just pisses me off, that's all. I like paying $100 for unlimited everything.

i think it's funny how someone could even begin to put down such an amazing device. what is there not to like about the iphone? and please tell me what other phone you can buy for $199 that is anywhere close to comparable.

personally i'm with verizon right now but i plan to switch over next month. most people who talk **** about the iphone simply can't afford one. end of story.

I dont talk **** about the iphone (and yes I can afford one), but I honestly dont see the why people treat the iphone like its the second coming of christ. An iphone owner said it himself in this thread that the phone by itself was not worth it, that it wasnt until he jailbroke it, did it become truly useful. I personally would not buy a phone that I had to void the warranty on and possibly render it useless by bricking it, before it would do everything i wanted it to do. For those who love thier iphone, more power to them.

That's not even the beginning, middle OR end of any story. That's everyone's argument when someone doesn't like something. I can assure you that I can afford any of these phones, but I simply see no purpose in spending hundreds of dollars on a cell phone. I can't stand that you can't buy a decent phone without a camera. If I want to take pictures, I have a camera. If I want to listen to music, I have a CD player at home and in my car. If I want to check E-mail or Internet, I'll stay home and use my computer. I'm not knocking anyone who wants to throw their money at expensive phones, but I also don't understand why. Later, QD.

I feel ya. I wish i could get a nice phone w/o a camera and some stuff, but those phones tend to be cheap and break easy for some reason. And for the price that this thing is, its too cheap (comparably) not to get one. The P.O.S. Samsung Sync i have now retailed at like 300 bucks and it doesnt do a fourth of what the iphone does. Im gonna get one just cause i need an upgrade NE way and my current phone is falling apart.

I was clarifying my position prior to making my statement, since the general attitude in this thread is that those who do not love the iphone cannot afford one and thier opinions are meaningless. You asked, "What is there not to like about the iphone?" and I responded with my opinion.
