The King Of Crunk,” Lil’ Jon, is on the outs with his record label, TVT Records, and doesn’t plan on delivering another album to the label. He told Ozone magazine, “TVT are some beeyatches. In case y’all didn’t know, I’ll never record another album for TVT again. I don’t mess with (TVT Records owner) Steve Gottlieb. He don’t know how to pay people and take care of the people that helped take his label to another level. You’ve gotta take care of people that helped you make money and basically made your company and made other artists wanna come to your label.”
Lil’ Jon, who added that he hasn’t receive any royalties from TVT Records, plans to take legal action. He said, “I’ve had record sales totaling probably like 10 million and I ain’t seen no money from the label. None at all. Zip, zero. Show money and production is how I’m getting paid. People hide things and claim there are reasons why you ain’t getting your money. But it’s all B.S.”
According to the RIAA Lil John has not sold 10 million. Lil’ Jon & the Eastside Boyz’ latest release on TVT Records, 2004’s Crunk Juice, has been certified double-platinum for sales of two million copies.
