sony's really aren't all that, you're paying more for the name than anything. samsung's aren't bad at the moment as far as bang for the buck. and if you're really ready to ditch the name brands altogether, i'd recommend vizio or olevia. i've got a small 32" lcd just for the bedroom and i've got no complaints.
