Default Gran Turiismo 5 Prologue (released today, april 16)

I just got back from gamestop with my copy of GT5 Prologue. I got lucky and snagged the only one they had that was not pre-ordered, once my ps3 is done getting the 2.30 firmware update i'll be giving my review!

Also from what i've read, there is already an update for the prologue free online, which updates it to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec II. Which includes:

    -34 more cars (71 total!)
    -high speed ring
-drift mode & 2 plyr battle
    -real time adjustment (hell yea)

anyway everyone who also picks it up post up on here.

LOL well ive been home with it for about an hour and a half and still havent got to play it,
first i had a ps3 firmware update, took about 30 mins. then to actually play the game, it has to install 6 gigs onto your ps3 HD which takes about 20-25 minutes to copy over. now that its on my HD ive been waiting about 25 mins so far to download the game update. so hopefully after this i can actually play the game.

Ive played a few of the C races now, and they have changed this game a lot. first off the graphics are GREAT. the cars handle completely different imo. the game does benefit greatly from a wheel & pedals.

    now my gripes:
-car sounds aren't all that great
    -not able to mod cars!!!

so far so good though, as long as they implement car modding and stuff via updates or in the final release i'll be cool with it. still by far the best driving game for ps3

39.99. They'll recoup the costs through car purchases in the store, but that's ok by me I'm sure some cars will be free because the automakers sponsors them.

No, you win a race and its based on money earned through game play.

Like you win and get 20,000 credits. No REAL money YET!

Wow i dont know about the online game play, cars are very twitchy looking, some races are impossible to win because all 12 guys have the same car... I actually got passed by a guy with the same car side by side, not sure how he had a speed boost. definitely needs some work though

Its a little more than a demo, there are actually licenses, 70+ cars and more than 1 track, as well as online game play. Its not the full game but considering the full version wont be out until 09, im glad they released this and its definitely worth the $39.99. Thanks for hating try again later.

OMG you have absolutely no idea.

It has more cars than NFS, It has better tracks that are more realistic than any other game PERIOD.

And it blows Forza graphics out the water. It's not a Demo, GT5P is the first real release of GT on a PS3. It's not the final product but i would pay $60.00 for it cause it that good.

Its not even full $60 game price, its $39.99. and it is that good. the online gameplay is actually pretty badass as long as you arent doing oval tracks lol.

How does it stack up against Forza 2? Is it worth the 1+ year wait?

Nope, all of my stuff has gone through just fine. Having a hard time finding time to play though. Wish sometimes I was a kid on summer vacation chilling with friends playing all day and bumming money off mom for food!

Im doing some of the a-class races now and they really jump in difficulty from the b-class. The driving experience is so much better imo. with the GTR you can really haul ass and when it understeers into a high speed turn, modulate the gas off and oversteer it. imo the drivability is 100000x better than gt4 or any other game ive ever played.

Been playing Gran Turismos since sometime in 97 (japanese release) for the PS1 and have bought every addition and this go round is much better (realistic) than the other GTs. Take off all driving aids, and choose professional physics....thats how Ive played GT3, GT4 and this game. TCS/ASM= . Cant wait till the whole game releases!!!

The GT-R is balls out, its insane. I was using an STI '05 for most of the stuff in class b, then bought a GT-R for the GT-R only race, and the difference between the two is night and day, its nuts. Still dont have the goddamn update though .

Yea i used the evo ix for most of the b class races, but its simply outpowered once you get into the a-class. ive been using the GT-r and bought a z06, but it sucks, buy the ford GT instead. the z06 is geared long as **** and handles like jello.

Chuck and I played for pretty much 13 hours straight saturday. We have only completed one of the S-Class events so far.....

Im not real happy with the game content and layout but other than that....

Graphics are definatly the best there is as far as driving games go
