It's not the lack of braking, shifting, and other parts of driving.
It's not even the fact that a "Stock car" is only that in decal.

It's the fans. I liked Nascar 10 years ago. Back then it wasn't mainstream and the sport was still about racing. Today it's about driver personality's and that's it.
