That's always the situation with Super Bowls, they're trying to appeal to a huge range of ages and backgrounds. They usually end up picking someone that's pretty acceptable to all parties... I think Tom Petty pretty much nailed the job description. Well-known, songs are upbeat but not too crazy while not too boring.

yeah i didnt really think about that but i guess im just not to big of a tom petty fan . so for someone who would fit that description that i think would have been better would be , well hell now that i though about it i cant reall think of anyone in the old school rock category but i would have minded seeing kenny chesney up there .
