Default Post your Home Theatre Setup

Mine is messy, but it works.

    Samsung 46in LCD 720P
    Phillips 5.1 Surround Sound
    Comcast DSL (router and modem)
    PS3 hooked up HDMI
    TIVO 80gig HD
    HP Tower 900 gig Harddrive

    Now shown:
    Wireless keyboard and mouse
Nintendo Wii (its in the briefcase to the right, never unpacked it after new years)

All protected by a monster cable surge protector .

I gotta clean up the cables, they used to look nice, but i carry my Ps3 an computer over to my friends house so much that finally i just got lazy.

    RCA HD DVD player
Xbox and PS2 both hooked up via component

Not really concerned with a lot of shiit, but this is what makes me shiver. Later, QD.

    50" Hitachi plasma
dish network 722 hd dvr on hdmi (350 hours recording time in sd and 55 in hd)
    sony 700w (i think) 5.1 surround sound
    xbox 360 on components

i liked the cabinet thing at first b/c i like the old feel of stuff....but it just doesnt go, when taxes come back i am going to move all of my recievers and xbox, etc to a closet that is just to the left outside of the picture and use a uhf kit, and finally hang the tv on the wall....and of course fish all of my lines etc through the walls so that the only thing seen when opening the closet is the recievers and the only thing seen outside is the tv itself, and i will probably go ahead and hang the surround sound speakers, the rears are on adjustable stands at the couch and ive already fished the wires under the house and into the walls there so all you see if a av jack on the wall and the wire coming from it

Honestly a home theater doesnt come in 1 big box.

    My set up as follows
    Projector (forget the model name)
    Marantz Reciever
2 OHM FRS-5 (look them up)
    Polk Csi 1 Center
    KLH Sub
    ****ty KLH Satellites
    Monster Speaker Cable

I think it sounds pretty good. Granted the speakers and reciever are sorta old, they in my opinion still sound better than a large majority of whats out there.

OK here are a couple pics of mine. 110" Screen, Infocus HD Projector, and Bose Lifestyle 28. No furniture yet, but comming soon.

Keep in mind I am 6-1 so that is some idea as to the size of the screen.
I have all my gaming systems hooked up and it makes for some serious fun playing Forza, Burnout, or any other games. Can you say give the wife motion sickness?

Good times are always had in this room.

I understand 2 cents taken, it still needs quite a bit of work considering that i just had had new hard wood floors put in 2 weeks ago and just got everything placed back on the floor.

the speaker placement for the front main spears will change possibly with new wall mounts but the wall shelves were chosen specifically due to the receiver and ps3 needing open air so no over heating would occur as you typically see with a cabinent setup unless you run custom fans. the wiring was a night mare but zip ties and some minor bundle placement and it helped immensely.
