at the end of the movie the "falling object" was a satellite, possibly from the japanese drilling company taragutu? (sp) the company said that they had lost one of their satellites, and that scene was a month prior to the monster and all of its nonsense, if the falling object was the monster wouldnt it have gone its rampage earlier? and abrams himself said the monster had been at rest for thousands of years before it was "awoken" or w/e

i mean the movie is supposed to be like it actually happened and real life usually isnt like the movies, so it didnt necessarily have a "movie-esque" ending, it just ended, like early in the movie when one of the buildings collapsed, there wasnt a big ol' dramatic ending for all those people in there, it was like "oh wtf is that?" *building collapses* end of story for those people, thats how it ended for rob and beth under the bridge, it just ends, no tied up loose ends, no twists, just an ending, they died, end
a lot of times in life when things end, they dont finish up all nice and pretty with the story all in a line and things all tidied up, its just over, like this movie, it just finished

I personally liked it, never had a dull moment up until the end, the monster was weird, not really scary, but I don't know if the monster is even the point the keeps the movie so suspensful lol. I was never really like OMFG the monster is coming run.
I give it a A+
I thought it was good. Different in its own way.
