i actually liked the ending, i just didn't care for the manner in which it was shot. I was hoping for a present day set-up, before the outbreak, to prepare you more for the aloneness. the two or three flashbacks didn't explain it well. I also wish they touched on the fact that the "monsters" feared him because they thought he hunted during the day, hence why they sent the dogs to attack instead of going themselves. just my 2 cents
