Yea he has, he was ordered to sell almost everything he owned(including his heisman trophy) and all that went to the family. Not to mention they got the royalties to his book. He hasn't paid NEARLY what he should, but he has paid some.

I mean they got the court to order him to give them his Rolex! But, it was fake so they had to give it back...lol

LATEST: A Los Angeles judge has ordered OJ SIMPSON to pay any income he received from past work, including movies, television and commercials, directly to the family of murder victim RON GOLDMAN. Superior Court Judge GERALD ROSENBERG made his ruling on the royalties yesterday (20FEB07), but rejected the family's bid to collect Simpson's earnings on future projects. The former US football star was acquitted in October 2005 of murder charges in the 12 June 1994 slayings of his ex-wife NICOLE BROWN SIMPSON and Goldman. A civil court later held him liable for the murders in a wrongful death lawsuit and ordered him to pay $35.5 million (GBP18 million), which has largely remained unpaid. Simpson's attorney, YALE GALANTER, claims royalties Simpson received from past work on films such as the NAKED GUN movies amount to almost nothing. He explains, "Last year Simpson's royalty checks from all of his movies were less than 39 cents. They got kicked to the curb again. Every door they're banging on gets slammed." Goldman's attorney, DAVID J COOK, insists the ruling on past royalties was a step in the right direction, adding, "We presume there is money and we're not going to take their word for it." The judge deferred ruling on a third request by the Goldmans to collect any advance money Simpson may have received for the book and TV show IF I DID IT, in which Simpson explains how he might have committed the murders. The book was abandoned after a public backlash and Simpson claims he has already spent the advance he received for the project. A hearing on the matter has been scheduled for 13 March (07).

How do you figure? Didn't you post that the charges were dropped.

dropped charges = he wasn't proven guilty

    Huh?

He was acquited on criminal charges and CONVICTED on civil charges.

    NO CHARGES WERE DROPPED

He has to pay because he was found guilty in a civil court. Does that clear it up for you?

Honestly, that was just a form of double jeopardy that got by, by calling it "wrong full death."

Personally, I wouldn't pay them ****. Not like they earned any of it. They were just pissed that he go free.

Do you have any idea what double jeopardy is? or even the basics of our court systems? Because if you did you would realize that it's not double jeopardy.

Well, if you don't wanna pay. You could spend your time in jail.

I know what double jeopardy is.

Answer my question! Throw out the reason because he is force to. Why do you think OJ should pay her family anything for "wrongful death?"

Did you read post 179? if not here it is again:

And just to clear up the double jeopardy argument:

Double jeopardy also does not attach if the later charge is civil rather than criminal in nature, which involves a different legal standard. Acquittal in a criminal case does not prevent the defendant from being the defendant in a civil suit relating to the same incident (though res judicata operates within the civil court system). For example, O.J. Simpson was acquitted of a double homicide in a California criminal prosecution, but lost a civil wrongful death claim brought over the same victims.

Because he was found quilty for her death, and should be held responsible. You can't serve jail time for a civil charge, so that was the only way they could punish him.
