New Knightrider car?

I wonder if this is for real or not. How are you gonna take an iconic car like that and say "well it was a Trans Am, but we signed with Ford..." It doesn't look right at all.

How's this, let's say they remade the old Lassie series into a movie but instead of using a collie, they used a boxer. The type of dog is as much (if not more) a part of the show as the fact that Lassie was a dog, the car was the defining point of the Knightrider in the exact same way. When people hear Knightrider, only one car pops into their head. Not just the car is off, the whole style of car is off, you can't have that porky, flat-faced car as KITT. It makes no sense.

I'd rather see KITT as say the 2010 Corvette ZR-1 prototype with a custom interior/front end. Or even a black Ford GT.
